I am appalled at the sheer volume of them. So I don't know if it is an age problem so much as a private sector vs public sector problem. How many people are either working for the government OR dependent on the government? That's the issue. The younger people I know who are still in the private sector are similar to us in our thinking of holding to the foundations of the nation. I just don't know if there are enough of them...

The nations you mention have no history of freedom, so they they have nothing to build on and no public memory of what freedom is. So I wouldn't expect they have the knowledge to revolt against tyranny...they know nothing other than that. In that way, Americans are different. Or we hope to remain different..if the demographics don't kill us. I'm not giving up yet...but if that stupid immigration bill that Rubio and Ryan are pushing goes through...we may truly be done.

Back and forth...up and down...round and round...It's hard to land on optimism..so I understand.
I checked on your blog the last couple of days...I hope you are doing fine!! You too...stay well!!

Cheryl Passhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01894307477506374497noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6215147935611201277.post-48226383235689244042013-05-15T11:11:27.612-07:002013-05-15T11:11:27.612-07:00"Are there enough Americans left to clean up ..."Are there enough Americans left to clean up this mess? And enough to put the ship right again?"

I'm not optimistic, Cheryl, unless Americans are truly different than everyone else. When I look around the world today, there is a long list of countries where the people should be up inn arms with their governments. It seems to me that the places where revolutions are going on, it because another tyrrant wants the power. Lookk at places like Zimbabwe, North Korea, El Salvador, Sudan, and Venezuela to name a few. No revolutions. The countries don't implode. They just slog along and so do the people.

Think about the US. The only people who care are conservatives?libertarians. By far, most them are baby boomers or older. When we are gone, who is going to fight the good fight?

Sorry to be such a downer today, dear friend.

You and yours stay well!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
