CONSERVATIVE DEFENSE OF BUSINESS IS NOT THE SAME THING AS STATE CORPORATISM

The joke in my house when people are tongue tied or getting things mixed up is: "Someone is getting their merds wixed up!" (if you didn't catch that, flip the first letters of "words mixed" and you get it.)

In case you are looking for definitions to describe the current political soup we are in, good luck! We seem to be swirling around in a strange witch's brew of ingredients where socialism is mixed up with fascism, dictatorship, corporatism, communism, and with a small dash of capitalism thrown in just to placate the few Americans left in the nation. That's a lot of isms. We are trying so hard, as Americans, to define the political ideology of our future, while watching capitalism marginalized to near extinction. What do we call the new witch's brew?

We had capitalism in a form that satisfied the needs of most Americans for many years. Capitalism, combined with the rule of U.S. Constitutional law, was simple in design and created opportunity for all comers.

But Michael Moore says capitalism is dead. (I would say it lives on in the hearts of Americans, but Michael Moore doesn't listen to me.) What Michael Moore is really saying, I think, is that corporatism has taken over capitalism through political corruption. Large corporations are indeed now political organizations being played by governments and politicians on a global scale. This has happened to such an extent that corporatism has nearly killed capitalism. Of course Michael Moore never liked capitalism anyway, so he delights in the death of the most productive economic system in the history of the world.

But let's define our "merds." What is the difference between Corporatism and Capitalism?

Corporatism defined

corporatism (plural corporatisms)

  1. Political / Economic system in which power is exercised through large organizations (businesses, trade unions, their associated lobbying efforts, etc.) working in concert or conflict with each other; usually with the goal of influencing or subsuming the direction of the state and generally only to benefit their own socioeconomic agendas at the expense of the will of the people, and to the detriment of the common good.
  2. The influence of large business corporations in politics.
Capitalism defined

"Capitalism" is conventionally defined along economic terms such as the following:

An economic system in which the means of production and distribution are privately or corporately owned and development is proportionate to the accumulation and reinvestment of profits gained in a free market.
Source: Dictionary.com
This is an example of a definition by non-essentials. An essential definition of capitalism is a political definition:
Capitalism is a social system based on the principle of individual rights.
Source: Capitalism.org

Obama hates capitalism and proves by his policies that he will do anything he can to destroy it. Tea Partiers, conservatives, who love capitalism are defamed by the left as bitter clingers. Defenders of business enterprise, "the American Way," are told they are greedy sons of bitches and need to share the wealth. Obama is the champion of this defamation, all the while he is kissing up to the likes of Jeffery Immelt, CEO of GE. Curious, no?

So what is going on here? Merds are getting wixed up. How so? Capitalists are being confused with corporatists. People on the street are being told that businessmen and women are greedy and are the abusers of workers. Business, the act of producing products and employing people, has come under the heading of criminal activity as defined by leftists.

At the same time, leftists are using corporations to implement their top down control of the American people. How? Through tax incentives, through regulations, through propaganda, through bribery of campaign money, through favortism, and any other way they can. You see, corporatism is not the same thing as capitalism.

The guy on the street is being told to despise "capitalism," business enterprise, as we all used to know it. Then the guy on the street sees the likes of Jeffrey Immelt and GE and says to himself, "Yeah, those nasty businessmen are greedy sons of bitches and should pay their fair share." And then, the guy on the street hears Tea Partiers and conservatives defending capitalism and says to himself, "Well, I don't like that idea because look at Jeffrey Immelt and GE." The guy on the street has his "merds wixed up," confused by contemporary definitions of "business enterprise." And who would not be confused? The witch's brew being cooked up is a mess.

The trouble with this is that GE is the poster child of "corporatism," not capitalism. The act of business in this country is now divided into two categories; big business corporatism, and entrepreneurship capitalism. It is the entrepreneur capitalist who is being smashed into oblivion, while the politically connected corporatist is sitting lofty in the favored highest halls of our government. Corporatists have sold out capitalism. There is good business and bad business and corporatism is bad business.

GE gets away with this by pretending to be on board with global environmentalist goals, i.e. wealth redistribution through environmental policies, windmills and squirrelly light bulbs, energy star appliances, etc. Warren Buffet gets away with his billions by telling Americans to pay more taxes. (spokesperson for the global leftist O in the WH.) Bill Gates gets away with it because he, too, plays the global leftists game of wealth redistribution, depopulation initiatives, foreign aid, and more. But those are only three of huge players who are playing the corporatist political game. Duke Energy, Home Depot, Ted Turner, Banks of all stripes, so many I could not begin to count.

And in case you don't know the corporatism game, here is a brief description:
Step 1. Spend money on politicians' campaigns and lobbyists.
Step 2. Ask for regulations and laws to benefit your corporation.
Step 3. Once favored status is achieved, make more money.
Step 4. Ask for tax loopholes and tax deductions, subsidies and grants.
Step 5. Politicians then tell you to trade the loopholes, subsidies and grants for your support of anti-capitalist orgs., such as NGO's, non-profits, leftists foundations, etc. (which you are all too happy to do because capitalism is not what you are doing anymore.)
Step 6. Throw parties and live it up! Dance on the grave of capitalism.

As 2012 elections draw near, Americans need to know the difference between capitalism and corporatism. Candidates who espouse support of business, need to define what that means to them. Are they supporting corporatism or capitalism? Romney? Perry? Bachmann? Whoever? Who is standing with the U.S. Constitutional support of capitalism? Who is in bed with corporations who want nothing but government favors in trade for squashing any business in their way, tax deductions, subsidies, grants, and loopholes? It's an important distinction.

For all of the leftist media consternation over Halliburton during the Bush / Cheney years, the Obama leftists have doubled down on the worst corporatism policies I have ever seen in my lifetime. Truthfully, our government has been corrupted by corporatism for a long time and is now into it up to its eyeballs. Republicans, as a whole, are not pristine in their conduct on this issue, either, to say the least. Conservative voters need to be discerning which candidates are actually still supporters of capitalism.

As supporters of business, let's not get our merds wixed up! We need capitalists, not state corporatists.

MALAPROPS FOR CHRISTMAS

The Christmas holidays are upon us.  And because of this time of year, so full of hugs and well wishes, it's a bit more difficult to focus on the misdeeds and inappropriate acts of our government.  I would rather just focus on decorating our tree and saying nice things in the Christmas cards to our friends.  I would rather plan a party and listen to Christmas carols.  It would be nice to ignore Congress right now.  In fact, it would be nice to be able to ignore government and politicians at all levels today.  But they won't let us ignore them.  It's hard to ignore those persons who are deliberately sticking their middle fingers up at us, their thumbs on their noses, and their asses bare in our faces.  Trust me, I'd much rather be dreaming up Christmas dinner and anticipating my family's Christmas celebrations.

For my Christmas present to my readers, I thought I'd write a Christmas letter with examples of the presents that the left has already stuffed into our stockings, put on our Christmas trees, and is planning to force down our throats.  (We'd be better off with coal.  At least you can burn it for heating and energy.)  I give you Malaprops for Christmas!  For the purpose of understanding left-speak, I first give you the definition of "malapropism."

mal·a·prop·ism[mal-uh-prop-iz-uhm]
–noun
1.an act or habit of misusing words ridiculously, esp. by the confusion of words that are similar in sound.
2.an instance of this, as in “Lead the way and we'll precede.”

Dear Friends,

It's been a very interesting year.  It has been snowing twisted language from our politicians all year, language that has been used to bring wonderment and awe upon the American landscape.

Nancy Pelosi promised "Ethics and Transparency" in the House.  By ethics and transparency she meant: Rangel gets a slap on the wrist and we don't "know what is in the bill until we pass it."  "Transparency" means only until they throw Julian Assange in the fireplace with the wrapping papers and finish buying off all that remains of the press.  Bells will be ringing!

Bring on the "Net Neutrality" regulations.  Hmmmm...where "neutrality" means you cannot use your blog to relate criticism of the government without competing pop up windows from leftist writers who want their views to override yours.   What this means is "neutralize the enemies' message"...enemies being you and me.  Think about it....."neutralizing" someone is not usually a friendly phrase.  Eggnog, anyone??

Next, lets contemplate Barack Obama's idea of American "Energy Independence."  This is where he shuts down all of our drilling and exploration of oil so we can pay through the nose for foreign oil, and keep subsidizing ethanol, windmills, and solar panels, all too expensive for middle class and poor people to keep up simple lifestyles.  "Independence" for and from whom???  Certainly not for you and me.  More lights on the tree this year?? Just wait 'til he decorates your house with Smart Meters!!  Now that should cut down on those joyful Christmas lights.

While we are on that subject, let's look at the "Green" energy policies which cause all appliances to be unaffordable unless subsidized with tax rebates, and cause housing construction prices to go through the roof.  Yep, green means you pay more.  The use of the word "green" is very interesting.....as in green dollar bills.  "Green" is what "they" get, while trying to convince you that you are a slug on the planet who doesn't deserve to keep what you earn and must pay "them" for their ability to create scarcities of resources. "Green" is what they get when you pay boatloads for a box of Corn Flakes while they subsidize corn based ethanol.  See?  Green means money.  And you thought it meant that pretty "greenery" you use to dress up your mantles for the holidays.  Silly you.

Next up is "Social Justice."  This means that laws will be in favor of certain classes of people who thrive on making people think they are victims.  Racial justice, gay justice, minority justice....all meaning "justice" which can be had only in favor of particular groups.  It isn't 'justice" at all, but reparations being paid by people who did nothing to the supposedly offended class of so-called victims.  You owe something to someone because someone else in some other century did something bad to someone who died two or three hundred years ago.  Or, you didn't happen to hire a gay person or a brown person for whatever reason, but you should pay for that.  Or, more brown persons are in prison for crimes they committed, but they should not be punished because fewer white people are in prison.  Get it??  Justice?  I don't think so, but Webster's dictionary is being "transformed" for purposes of political favortism. Think of it as a Christmas Cookie Swap, where the left gets what someone else made, but didn't bring any cookies to swap.  Nice deal, eh??

"Health Insurance for pre-existing conditions!"  Now there is a star for your Christmas Malaprops tree.  Insurance is a risk based endeavor you purchase.   Or was.  Now, thanks to Obama, "insurance" is a mandate and an entitlement.  In Malapropsland, insurance means, "pay for this or I'll shoot you."  Actually, they'll garnish your wages and wreck your credit rating or seize your house, or take whatever else suits their greed.  Definitely a shining star at the top of your Christmas tree...placed there by a mostly Muslim guy who says he is a Christian, but bows to the Saudi Princes.

Snow?  Did you say it is snowing??  Snowing in Malapropsland??  Indeed it is!!   I'd better go see if I can find some more "green" to pay for all these new ornaments on our tree this year.

In closing, I hope you all manage to find lot of "green" (as in money),  and boxes of Corn Flakes, and reasonable insurance, and individual justice, and the free flow of information, and most of all, blessed independence from the Kings and Queens of Malapropsland.

Merry Christmas to all.... and to all a free pocket Constitution!!! GET ONE HERE!
Best wishes and love,
Cheryl

JOHN KERRY SLAPS HIS OWN FACE

Sometimes the irony is just too delicious.  John Kerry spoke out yesterday and, by his statement, proved how Obama got elected.  Below is the quote:
John Kerry quote yesterday from the Boston Herald “We have an electorate that doesn’t always pay that much attention to what’s going on so people are influenced by a simple slogan rather than the facts or the truth or what’s happening,” Kerry told reporters after touring the Boston Medical Center yesterday.

Out of the mouth of a cynical elistist leftist, this quote made me stop, drop, and roll on the floor with laughter.  Senator Kerry just described the exact playbook by the leftists in government and the press.  But, Senator Kerry is referring to whom in this quote?  According to the Boston Herald article, he is referring to the angry voters connected to the Tea Party activists and the Republicans who are responding to citizens who are fed up.  Senator Kerry further states, “I think a lot of the anger today - while it’s appropriate because Washington is broken - is not directed at the right people,” said Kerry. “Barney is prepared, as others are, to explain what we’re doing. I think when people hear the facts and they see what we’re doing, it frankly makes sense.”

Sure, Senator Kerry, people out here are just tickled pink with 14 Trillion in debt and the Obama administration nationalizing car companies, student loans, banking, medical care,  and a national unemployment rate of 10%+, etc.  Really?  Sure, Senator Kerry, people are just hopping around with glee at Barney Frank's massive fraud with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.  Absolutely, Senator Kerry, let's hear how Barney Frank spins the Community Reinvestment Act implosion into a "good thing" for the country.

Senator Kerry says, "people are influenced by a single slogan rather than the facts or truth or what's happening."  You mean slogans like, "Yes We Can?"  Slogans like, "Hope and Change?"  Slogans like, "Change we can believe in?"  Would you, Senator Kerry,  say the national media outlets, the press, the journalists who are supposed to be the government watchdogs gave us facts and truth regarding Obama?

In each joke there is a grain of truth that makes people laugh.  After my fit of laughter subsided, I had to ponder the grain of truth in Senator Kerry's statement.  The grain of truth in Senator Kerry's statement is that the electorate has been uninformed and duped by a conniving and sinister government and colluding press operatives.  That was the plan.  Evidently it worked in 2008.  And now that the public has awakened to the propaganda so smoothly put in place by the elitist left, the patriotic tea party citizens are basically telling John Kerry and everyone else in government to go fly a kite.  He doesn't like it that the tables are turning away from his favor?

The public is going around the national media outlets for information, going outside of the government for analysis of government activities.  The public is clammoring for facts and truth.  And it isn't going to be Barney Frank's spin or John (Teresa Heinz) Kerry's duplicitous pandering that people swallow.

WHAT FREE MARKET?

Those of you who think free market capitalism is a good thing, please stand up. Those of you who think free market capitalism has been alive and well in America for the last many decades, please take a flyer to Never Never Land. Those of you who hate free market capitalism, tell me when the last time was that you saw such a thing.

From the early 1900's, since Woodrow Wilson and the establishment of the Federal Reserve, there has been a steady and deliberate destruction of free market capitalism in America. Once the politicians created a separate bank, one which they could use to control the money supply, the idea of a free market was at risk of manipulation by said politicians.

So, for over 100 years, our livelihoods have been played like puppets to the tune of enriching politicians, depending on who and what industry was in or out of favor of any particular time.
The question is, how are we to retrieve a free market based system that has been missing for a 100 years? Some industries tried to escape the talons of the federal government, and lost. The others decided it was easier to get in bed with the government in order to try to survive. Consequently, our America has been at the mercy of greedy politicians for much longer than I have been alive. When all Americans really want is to conduct business without the corruption of politicians interfering. Oh, how naive I must be to hope for such liberty. My family, some Irish and some German, all came here to escape the tyranny of governments who became so corrupt. And now we find ourselves wrapped up in the same thing we tried to escape, a couple of generations later. Tyranny. Without economic liberty, there is no liberty. Period.

All of that came to mind when I read an article from Big Government.com I live in North Carolina, whose citizens are struggling, like all those in other states, to wrestle themselves out from under the thumb of heavy handed government interference. The onslaught is relentless. The killer is that some really stupid or greedy (not sure which) keep electing unscrupulous officials who are in it for the money. Democrat, junior Senator Kay Hagan is just such a government official. She is supposedly on the warpath to get rid of "payday" lenders, citing them as bad for consumers and predatory towards the poor and misfortunate. But her campaign money is coming from who? The commercial banks who would like nothing more than to put other competitors (payday lenders) out of business. Kay would like to pay back her cronies, you know. In case that alone is not enough to convince you of Hagan's corruption, here is an excerpt from the article:

"Hagan is also carrying the water for the corrupt Center for Responsible Lending, the group who took $15 million from John Paulson, a key figure in the Goldman Sachs scandal. This money was used to undermine the subprime lending market that helped millions of Americans buy their first homes. While witnessing this, Hagan’s cronies reaped billions of dollars off of their bets against the American dream. The Center for Responsible Lending – author of the Hagan bill – was involved in a scheme with John Paulson and Senator Chuck Schumer to destroy IndyMac Bank that allowed Paulson to buy pieces of IndyMac at fire sale prices and collect billions for himself and his cronies."

Americans don't have a prayer against this type of government corruption. It was one thing for the lobbyists to pay off politicians to try to eliminate regulations. It is just another, yet worse, side of the coin when politicians are using laws and regulations to wreck companies and then profit from the devastation. It has become so obvious that we are left with our heads spinning wondering how in the hell they are getting away with this. What used to be criminal and punishable by law, is now common government practice and being promoted as the Democrat ideal. The criminals in our government are running around patting themselves on the back for their cleverness, and have corrupted the media to spin the message to convince the public that they are actually doing something good. The entire scenario is straight out of "Atlas Shrugged" by Ayn Rand, would that the public had read and understood the book.

Freedom and prosperity are cohabitants. Without freedom, the only prosperity is that of the powerful elitists pulling the strings. If we don't get the crime out of government, we will not survive the coming decade as the America we love and want to remain. My message is: STOP ELECTING THESE CRIMINALS.
