JUMPING OFF A CLIFF - OR GETTING PUSHED

My husband and I have great conversations sometimes where we realize and rediscover how much alike our childhoods were.  This morning over breakfast we discussed the whys and wherefores of "common knowledge" and how that happens.  The conundrum on the table was: "How on earth are so many people being snookered into the global warming scam?" Next question: "Where are the people who ask critical questions of those who present such false premises?"  Next question: "How are people missing the real science and real world evidence?"  Next question: "Even after the IPCC so-called global warming science was proven to be corrupted and false, how is it that the policies based on those lies still continue to be forced on us?"  

These questions turned into reflections on our parents, both sets, telling us, "if everyone is jumping off a cliff (in my husband's case it was a bridge), does that mean you are going to do it?"  Flaws and all, the two sets of our parents were wise on that one.  As growing children, our parents' admonitions caused us to pause, consider the consequences of following the herd, and most importantly, made us think for ourselves.  It also made us consider economics.  If the activity in question was going to cost money, whose money was going to cover the cost?  Ours, or our parents?  If we insisted we should participate, who was going to pay for it?

I was listening briefly yesterday to a Sean Hannity interview on his radio show.  I just happened upon the end of a discourse between Hannity and Kirsten Powers.  The subject was the exhorbitant amount of money the POTUS and his family are spending on vacations while telling the rest of Americans that we must live with the so-called "sequester" on spending.  Hannity questioned the two spring break vacations the two POTUS offspring took that cost us millions of $$$$.  But good ole leftist, Kirsten, said those vacations were justified by POTUS being such a good parent and that those girls' friends were wanting the girls to go on those vacations, so of course, POTUS had to say yes and give them what they wanted.  Her assertion was it would have been cruel to keep the girls from doing what their friends were doing.  Nevermind that she neglected to acknowledge the American taxpayers were paying for this, Americans who can't afford to go on vacations.  Even Hannity neglected to drive that point home.  I reference this radio conversation to show how immature and entitled the left is.  They can't think beyond..."everyone is doing it, so we should, too."  And it matters not who pays the bill as long as it isn't them.  There was no common knowledge of personal accountability in the entire thought process that Kirsten expressed.  None. I was listening to the mind of arrested development, someone who just didn't have the capability to consider the consequences of actions.  She has the mind of a 10 - 15 year old.  "If it feels good to do something, you do it and let someone else pay the price."  Go ahead!  Jump off the cliff!  But make someone else pick up the pieces.

Here's the thing. The people who are paying (and going to pay) the price for following the herd are being pushed off the cliff into paying.  This is the "consensus" so coveted by global progressives.  If those who are paying dare to speak up to complain about paying for hoaxes and heists, then those who complain are chastised, shamed, yelled at, treated like dirt, disrespected, ignored, etc.  Let the temper tantrums begin.  The child's response to the mature and wise adult is a tantrum.   

There is another underlying message our parents taught while teaching us to not "jump off the cliff."  That is that IF you are going to play, you are the one who must pay.  But again, this lesson is missing in the minds of progressives.  In this current political context, "play" means doing what "feels good."  And what "feels good" to the indoctrinated progressives is collective theft.  As long as collective theft "feels good," and as long as they have the keys to political power,  those forced to pay are all being pushed off the cliff. 

So here is my question to my readers.  How do you make developmentally arrested adults #1. think through the consequences of their actions? and #2. realize that stealing is a punishable offense?  Before you go crazy at the apparent simplicity of that question, know that I raised two children who became great, responsible adults.... and they did get those lessons.  I've been through all of the peer pressure arguments, the tantrums, the economic questions, and all of the agonizing pain that was rewarded in the long run with truth and reason prevailing.  (whew! Thanking the dear Lord for that.)
But we are talking about adults who obviously missed out on all of that.  I can waste time blaming other parents in several decades of generations who didn't take the time or care to teach the lessons.  That doesn't help at this point.  What we need to find out now is how to teach developmentally arrested adults OR at the least, get them out of power positions.

I have one suggestion, not that the media companies would listen to me.  I wonder how on earth some person such as Kirsten Powers gets paid to be on radio (plus Fox News) with Sean Hannity and, by doing so, her lame assertions are given credence just by her appearance on the show.  I suppose Sean Hannity is tied to the "fair and balanced" nonsense or perhaps he thinks by exposing this immaturity to the public, he would make the point.  I have to tell you this tactic is not working.  Paychecks (big ones) are being written to incompetent children / adults to skew the public sphere with a false "consensus."  They are rewarded for telling people to "jump off the cliff."  While I can hear the progressive arguments and see through them, there are many in this society who lack the ability to critically think.  Or, the public doesn't  even have the time to devote to these issues. At the least, the public sees a woman getting paid big bucks on tv or radio to further the cause of collective theft.  This demoralization creates more peer pressure to shut up opposition.  Whether Hannity realizes it or not, he is lending credence to those who he says he disagrees with.   He is giving progressives a well paid platform.  Does this feed the advertisers by keeping controversy alive?  I suppose they think so. That is just one aspect of media motives. (Just so you know...I don't watch or listen to Hannity usually at all.  I just happened upon that one interview for a few minutes.)

Am I saying to shut down free speech in America?  In fact, the progressive left is doing a great job of that already. What I am proposing is it is time to get serious and stop rewarding the developmentally arrested who are posing as adults.  As long as they are rewarded, we are stuck in this never ending spiral of being pushed off the cliff .....the cliff the progressives love so much.

OBAMA'S HOLOMODOR - WHITE HOUSE RURAL COUNCIL

I'm not sure how much evidence Americans need to realize the guy in the White House is a serious Communist, but the creation of Obama's Rural Council on June 9th is about the most any hopey-changey person would need.

The executive order states, “To enhance the Federal Government’s efforts to address the needs of rural America, this order establishes a council to better coordinate Federal programs and maximize the impact of Federal investment to promote economic prosperity and quality of life in our rural communities.”

Gee, doesn't that sound nice? In case no one is noticing, the Federal government has no Constitutional authority to do anything with rural communities. Rural communities are within the purview of the states, not the Federal government.

The order covers 16% of the American population who lives in rural counties because they “supply our food, fiber, and energy, safeguard our natural resources, and are essential in the development of science and innovation.” Cite

Well, isn't that news to us all...?? That our rural areas are agrarian and supply natural resources to the rest of us? I guess Obama thought we didn't notice that, so he ought to take charge of those areas. You know he can do what no one else can, such as; make the oceans recede and lower the temperatures of the planet, and increase jobs, too!! What a guy!

Executive orders are becoming more and more intrusive, brash, and prevalent. I wonder when these executive orders get rescinded...?? Do we ever see that happen? I've seen those cute photo ops with all of the former Presidents standing side by side and smiling, being buddies as if in an exclusive club. Maybe there is some unwritten rule that Presidents just don't undo what the previous Presidents did out of some sort of hat tip to the guy who went before them. Whatever the reason, the "ticking time bombs" these guys put into place never seem to go away. So whoever gets the White House the next time is the lucky inheritor of the White House Rural Council? And Bush and Obama have inherited the President's Council on Sustainable Development. And so on...without end? So the executive branch of Czars and unelected bureaucratic monsters just keep multiplying over time. Trust me we are already covered up with them. Swamped. Suffocated. Saturated.

When it comes to Bill Clinton's President's Council on Sustainable Development and this new one, the White House Rural Council, the limits have been broken. Both of these are anti-property rights programs. Land use, natural resources, water, even "views" are now under siege by the White House.

We know Obama knows this is an un-Constitutional over-reach, a slap in the face of all Americans. But he doesn't care. Why would a Communist care about such things. His goal is to turn all of America into an outdated soviet style system put together by collectivist ideology. That's his idea of "progress?"

This has happened before in the last century. And it didn't turn out too well actually. Lenin set the collectivization of rural Ukraine in motion before Stalin took it and ran with it. Between the two of them, the Ukraine suffered beyond description. It is the other holocaust you don't hear about. And now we have a parade of American Presidents putting the same collectivism in place here in the U.S., one building on the last one's authoritarian creep against our freedom.

Evidently Obama has learned his lessons well from his Communist parents. The liberation of Libya from Ghadaffi is his current fascination, while here at home he intends to enslave our entire population. He is working successfully on the price rationing of energy and energy starvation here and now. How long before he, and the inheriting Presidents coming after him, implement rationing of food, fibers, natural resources, and all else in America? Smart Meters anyone?

What a bad joke this and these past Presidents are. I'm not laughing. The Ukrainian dead are not laughing. The Ukrainian dead are telling us their story for good reason.

We have to find a Presidential candidate for 2012 and candidates forever beyond who are bound to the U.S. Constitution and the sovereignty of our nation...AND who believe in states rights through the 10th amendment. The Federal government was never meant to be this powerful and the United Nations does not have jurisdiction over our nation.

WOULD YOU STILL HAVE YOUR JOB?

Just a thought. If your job performance reflected this kind of approval, would you still have your job? Granted we're stuck until 2012, but according to Rasmussen today, only 23% of voters strongly approve of Barack Obama's job per performance.

Maybe it's just me, but less than 50% for almost 18 mos. out of 24 would not get it in most lines of work. Or in anything else. Unless, of course, you are a government union employee. Then you can skate away with twice the salary and benefits as the rest of us who are working at maximum capacity to carry your load.

Is he a one term president? One term was one term too many. Please let's move out of this nightmare as soon as possible.

THE GREAT DIVIDE = COLLECTIVISM VS. INDIVIDUALISM PART II

Continuing this train of thought...I think you can't have "collectivism" without collective guilt. And you can't have collective guilt unless indoctrination takes place in the schools, the churches, the media, and the culture at large. For a person to take on collective guilt he or she has to be walking around feeling undeservedly blessed. To feel undeserving the person needs to feel they have received more than they have worked for and contributed to society and their own families. In order to make people feel undeserving, you have to convince them that what they have is ill-gotten gain. You have to create an atmosphere of guilt around them. You show them pictures of starving children. You make them weep over suffering animals. You tell them stories of the poor poor people who have no health insurance, the homeless, the 3rd world countries with no running water, etc. Then you hit them with how this is all of their fault. Bango....you have created an entire population with collective guilt. With reference to the ladies in the previous post, this is an easy set up. But for those of us who have worked hard all of our lives and come from families of hard workers, this set up doesn't go down well. Nor should it.

The spin meisters of our culture, the ones who really despise American success, have worked diligently for decades now to make Americans feel really really guilty. Americans are, in general, a very compassionate and generous people. We have shared our success with the rest of the world in spades. Yet, those who resent us are using our success to try to make us feel very bad about it, saying we have not done enough, saying we have to down-grade so others can have what we worked to gain. But this is an out and out lie. Nevertheless, that is the game being played against us. The reality / objectivism versus the fiction / relativism is at the heart of this divide. And reality / objectivism teaches us that a country of successful individuals is the reason for American success. The reality / objectivism teaches that you cannot share what has been robbed from you. Forced collective sharing is immoral theft.

American success is completely derived from individualism. The basis for our government is individualism. Without individual self-interest, there is no American success story. America was not built on collectivism. But the Federal government which was first established to preserve individualism has turned our basis on its head. Those who work for the Federal government or receive Federal funding now promote collectivism in order to shore up their own existence and keep the funding taps open.....to the tune of over 12 trillion in debt as I write this. The collectivists have so overwhelmed the individual achievers in our country, that they have reached beyond the point of Chapter 11 into complete insolvency. Margaret Thatcher was entirely correct when she pointed out that "What is wrong with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money."

Now that we have reached the tipping point, the global socialists are frothing at the mouth to pick the bones. The UN thieves want to take the land, the resources, and the money, and hand it over to all of those poor poor in the 3rd world. The collectivists in America are in the process of handing our country over to the collectivists in the global environmental movement. Our individualism means nothing to them. They only see a big fat pie to be eaten as fast as possible. That's why Obama and his administration are creating a crisis nearly every day....so more of the pie can be grabbed by everyone else on the excuse of another crisis. A planetary crisis...a national crisis, a flu pandemic, a banking crisis, on and on. What's their answer? Collective health care. Collective energy use. Collective land use. Collective unions. Etc.

So what of the ladies and their collective guilt? What they want to share is your success, not their own. They aren't willing to give what they have. They want you to give up what you have. One of them quite literally told me she does not believe in charities because that is what taxes are for. The government is her charity of choice, yet every time her property taxes go up, she is first in line, appealing to have them reduced. These ladies are only a handful of people who have swallowed the propaganda. Michael Moore did his job well. Many more were indoctrinated. Al Gore managed to suck in a lot of suckers. And Obama used his race and his charisma to convince a lot of Americans to assuage their guilt by voting for a black man and to take the country down out of misplaced collective guilt....guilt that was beat into their heads for generations.

My recipe for correcting this disaster is absolution. Collective guilt has to be denied as the lie that it is. We cannot allow people to feel guilty for something they did not do and then have any kind of healthy society. At the same time, we need to promote and celebrate creative / critical thinking and personal responsibility. Individualism must once again be celebrated and put back in its rightful place as the point guard of our republic. Pride in America's achievements because of individualism must be given its due. We need to let people know that our place in the world is the example of hope of individuals to reach their potential. Without that we have a collective disaster from which we will never recover.
