KNOW THY ENEMY - OBAMA and ENERGY POLICIES

The Obama administration wasted billions of dollars on supposed "Green" or "Clean" energy stimulus programs.  States and utility companies took the bait.  The economy and consumers took the hit.  The nation suffers.   It is as if a suicide pact has been made, only you and I didn't agree to it.

A case in point would be Maine.  From Watts Up With That

On September 26, 2012, the Maine Heritage Policy Center and Beacon Hill Institute for Public Policy Research released a study which found that Maine’s current Renewable Portfolio Standards (RPS) Law, which mandates the minimum and maximum amount of energy consumers must purchase from various sources, will raise the cost of electricity in Maine by 8% in 2017. This 8% increase amounts to approximately $145 million in statewide consumption costs, and would cost Maine approximately 995 jobs, $85 million in real disposable income, decrease investment in the state by $11 million, and increase the average household electricity bill by $80 per year.

North Carolina also has an insane law requiring a percentage of so-called  "renewable energy" usage in our State.  Multiply this across each State in America doing this and imagine the damage to our economy from Obama's energy policies.  From The Manhattan Institute"

"Motivated by a desire to reduce carbon emissions, and in the absence of federal action to do so, 29 states (and the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico) have required utility companies to deliver specified minimum amounts of electricity from "renewable" sources, including wind and solar power."

"There is growing evidence that the costs may be too high—that the price tag for purchasing renewable energy, and for building new transmission lines to deliver it, may not only outweigh any environmental benefits but may also be detrimental to the economy, costing jobs rather than adding them. "

How did this happen?  Obama handed out stimulus money.  New York Times 2009
“It’s an investment that will double the amount of renewable energy produced over the next three years,” said Mr. Obama, who also promised that the bill would help “transform the way we use energy.”

The text of the bill is posted by the House Appropriations Committee here. This detailed summary is particularly helpful.
The provisions include:
* A large sum for energy efficiency, including $5 billion for low-income weatherization programs; over $6 billion in grants for state and local governments; and several billion to modernize federal buildings, with a particular emphasis on energy efficiency.
* $11 billion for “smart grid” investments.
* $3.4 billion for carbon capture and sequestration demonstration projects (otherwise known as “clean coal”).
* $2 billion for research into batteries for electric cars.
* $500 million to help workers train for “green jobs.”
* A three-year extension of the “production tax credit” for wind energy (as well as a tax credit extension for biomass, geothermal, landfill gas and some hydropower projects).
* The option, available to many developers, of turning their tax credits into direct cash, with the government underwriting 30 percent of a project’s cost

The Democrat Governor Perdue (of "suspend the elections" fame) came up with an executive order for Offshore Wind Power.  Evidently, the "executive order" disease is not just in the White House.

"Gov. Bev Perdue (D-NC) signed an executive order to create the Offshore Wind Economic Development Task Force, in conjunction with her veto of Senate Bill 709, which would have pushed the development of offshore oil and gas, as well as onshore gas fracking."

In case you are clueless as to why this is going on and who is driving this unconscionable madness, a commenter on Watts Up With That helped me out with the list of quotes below.  Read them and KNOW YOUR ENEMY.

* “Under my plan of a cap-and-trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket” – Obama, POTUS

* “Somehow we have to figure out how to boost the price of gasoline to the levels in Europe” – Steven Chu, Obama’s Energy secretary

* “A massive campaign must be launched to de-develop the United States” – John Holdren, Obama’s Science Czar

* “Isn’t the only hope for this planet the total collapse of industrial civilization? Is it not our responsibility to ensure that this collapse happens?” – Maurice Strong, UNEP Director

* “My goal is to destroy the industrial infrastructure and see wilderness… returning throughout the world.” – David Foreman, Earth First co-founder

* “In my opinion, these CEOs of fossil energy companies should be tried for high crimes against humanity and nature.” James Hansen, NASA Goddard

* “We know who you are. We know where you live. We know where you work.” Gene Hashmi, Greenpeace communications director

* “We have wished, we ecofreaks, for a disaster… to bomb us into the stone age, where we might live like Indians with our localism, our gardens, our homemade religion.” – Stewart Brand, Whole Earth Catalogue

* “In the history of mankind we witness Nature’s desperate struggle against an error of her own evolution…. If there were a button I could press, I would sacrifice myself without hesitating if it meant millions of people would die,” Finnish environmentalist Pentti Linkola

REDISTRIBUTE YOUR OWN WEALTH, THANK YOU VERY MUCH

Down in Rio they are playing games with your money.  Your money and mine, actually.  I only wish it was a Monopoly Game they were playing with....I'd be a lot less irritated.   I was just reading a report from Paul Driessen and Duggan Flanakin, who have gone to Rio to witness the global heist attempt and here is a small piece of what they write.

Just this week, the Civil Society Reflection Group on Global Development Perspectives released a new report to the United Nations Rio+20 Earth Summit on Sustainable Development. The executive summary of No Future Without Justice begins with the heading, “The World Is in Need of Fundamental Change.” The document then offers “solutions,” which include “universal fiscal equalization” and a “massive and absolute decoupling of well-being from resource extraction and consumption.”

Really folks.  What world to we live in where stealing from people is called "Justice?"  The most basic immorality of these people is so off the charts obvious it is not to be believed.  If I were not reading this report with my very own eyes, I'd swear I was reading some account of how Mein Kampf went viral in 2012.

The authors continue:
"What is the source of all of this gobbledygook? Agenda 21, the centerpiece of the original Rio Earth Summit – which is being perpetuated, refined and redefined at parallel proceedings in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, while the main sustainability discussions are ongoing in Rio de Janeiro."

"In short, “sustainable development” is a system that requires a redefinition of business activity, away from the pursuit of personal profit – and of government activity, away from the pursuit of individual happiness and justice – and toward the pursuit of societal good, as defined by activists and the UN."

I read yesterday that Hillary Clinton and the Environmental Czar, Sheila Jackson were attending this convention of coveting criminals.  Oh, but why not?  If fits Hillary's redistributive agenda certainly.

Meanwhile, the Middle East is roiling, the EU is treading on thin ice, and the U.S. is participating in a global scam the size of Uranus.  (Did I say that?

Yes, I think I did!

The genius of these Rio Radicals is this (from the same article):

"To guide this “fundamental” shift toward the sustainability paradigm, the Group laid down eight principles – the key being the “precautionary principle,” which forbids any activity that might involve risk or “do harm.” Its own sustainability prescriptions are, of course, exempted from any reviews under the precautionary principle."

Well, that is like saying there are no absolutes, now isn't it?  (If you don't get that right away, think about it a minute.)

I think I'll go put "The Girl From Ipanema" on my ITunes list now.  You know, to get in the spirit of things.  My thoughts of Rio have changed....speaking of fundamental change.  Maybe I need a conversation with the Roaming Gnome.  I'm sure he'd side with me and disagree with the global jet setters who are planning to steal from the whole planet.  After all, if they get their way, the Roaming Gnome would be out of business because no one will be allowed to travel.

Bon voyage!  Ta Ta for now!!

ONE EARNED WEEK OFF

Hi all...
Just a quick note to say I am grabbing one week sabbatical from blogging. Today is my birthday and I am told by my loved ones that I deserve some time off. (Gotta love them!!) I'll be back next week after the Labor Day break, renewed and reinvigorated for the continuing fight against the communist take over of America.

Have a great Labor Day and remember this: It is our personal labors that make our country free from totalitarianism. Don't give up and don't give in!!

All my best to you,
Cheryl

THE TRAVESTY OF WINDFARMS - KEEP SPINNING THE SCAM

Some days it is hard to optimistic. Today is one of those days. I've written before on the horrendous downsides of windmills, killing birds by the thousands, wrecking landscape views, generally creating not much energy for the billions of money being BLOWN AWAY on these damn monstrosities.

So if you want to join in my total disgust and depression over the continuing insanity of windmills, here is some new information confirming the disaster that they are: From the Telegraph in the UK Article by Christopher Booker

"In a sane world, no one would dream of building power sources whose cost is 22 times greater than that of vastly more efficient competitors. But the Government feels compelled to do just this because it sees it as the only way to meet our commitment to the EU that within nine years Britain must generate nearly a third of its electricity from “renewable” sources, six times more than we do at present."

"The insanity does not end here. The Government talks of building 10,000 windmills capable of generating up to 25,000MW of the electricity we need. But when it does so, it – like the BBC – invariably uses that same trick of referring to “capacity”, without explaining that their actual output would be well below 30 per cent. (Last year, onshore turbines generated just 21 per cent of their capacity.) In other words, for all that colossal expenditure – and even if there was the remotest chance that two new giant turbines could be built every day between now and 2020 – we could only hope to generate some 6,000MW. This is not only way below our EU target, it is only a tenth of our peak demand during those cold, windless weeks last winter, when wind power was often providing barely 1 per cent of the power we needed."

" Madness is far too polite a word."

And that last sentence is exactly my opinion of what global socialist environmentalists have done to sanity. I suggest we wrap them all up in ropes attach them to the swirling blades of these steel constructs of Hell, and leave them there for however long they may live, which hopefully would not be long. Then we can let the rotting carcasses resume their proper carbon use by decomposing to replenish the earth.

I told you I was not in a good mood. Fair warning.

Comment from a post at Wattsupwiththat - Science Blog

"Gore’s work is being handled quite nicely, thank you, by the extra-constitutional organization known as the EPA. Essential power plants are going to fall off line not because terrorists have blown the transmission lines or overrun the control rooms, or some rogue nation has lit off an EMP device over US soil – the EPA, with a weapon no mightier than the common pen, has put into motion the final fall of American manufacturing.

I imagine the final insult will be the body bags needed when rolling brownouts punctuate the hot days of summer and the frigid nights of winter will be imported from some smoke stack nation that has a growing industrial base.

Gore has won his battle, and the EPA has won the war. We’re screwed."

SIZING UP THE SOCIALIST MACHINE IN AMERICA

Out here in the hinterland (medium sized city), watching our national, state, and local leadership all falling into the socialists abyss, is becoming like trying to catch a flood with your hands. It keeps on coming, in spite of the best efforts of good Americans who are aghast at the deluge. Count me among those aghast.

I began the day doing research on how conservancy groups are using non-profit status to acquire private property, taking the land out of the hands of citizen ownership and putting into the hands of the "collective." Once taken, the land is forever off of the property tax rolls, taken out of productivity, and placed firmly into the collective maintenance of the public coffers. This is going on daily all over the United States of America. The tools used to accomplish this are many and diverse and sometimes draconian. Peer pressure, tax incentives, tax pressures, regulations, eminent domain, shaming... you name it, anything will be used to accomplish the goal. So I guess it is no surprise that a global socialist foundation would be funding a school, teaching media relations for the socialist agenda.

In my search today I came across a site for The American Hiking Society Evidently, the American Hiking Society wants to influence Americans to give up land for their lovely hiking experiences...so from their site, I found this: The Spin Project
" The SPIN Project is dedicated to working with social justice organizations ready to deploy communications strategies for social change."

The site goes on to say:Using Media to Improve Media "A grant from the Ford Foundation allows SPIN to offer specialized services to advocates and scholars who are pressing for a more diverse, more local, more inclusive media landscape." Further revelations: "The SPIN Project works with a broad range of policy, advocacy and grassroots organizations striving to strengthen democracy and public participation. Our clients are typically small to midsize organizations focusing on issues concerning civil rights, human rights, social justice and the environment."

Continuing:
"The SPIN Project honors the multiracial, multicultural and diverse constituencies of the groups we work with, and consistently works with individuals of different ages, sexual orientations, ethnicities and incomes."

That looks like a recipe for a fractured society, if ever I've seen one. Nothing there about advocating for our national principles held in the Constitution.

Now I suspect the Ford Foundation is in the stratosphere of billionaires and money in the bank. And I am sure the Ford Foundation would like nothing other than to use its money to influence the political landscape in America, bending America to its socialist conformity.

To that end I found this under the heading "Campaign Support:"":
"In addition to strategizing on fieldwork with trainees, the SPIN Project has contributed to campaigns in an in-depth, ongoing capacity. SPIN will provide ongoing, advanced media consultation around political or cultural campaigns by “parachuting” a staff person into the field. A SPIN Project media professional will provide concrete skills on a real-time campaign with local activists and serve as a mentor to develop media capacity in existing campaign staff.

I guess that is what Nancy Pelosi meant when she said they would parachute in, eh?

And you thought hiking was just a nice walk in the woods. Instead, hiking is now an advocacy group for 'social justice' and 'multi-cultural diversity.' I mean, how can you take private property away from an owner if it isn't for the sake of collectivism and communitarian enjoyment?
The flood is not coming from the dark shadows under the floor boards anymore. The flood is coming from our corrupt government policies and filtering down through non-profit orgs. who are benefiting from tax-payer largesse. Today, I am very worried we have not enough hands to catch the deluge. The American people are going to have to stand up ....against the "American Hiking Society," for crying out loud?? Yes. That is what it will take to save the nation. Why should a hiking organization using tax deferred non-profit status promote a political foundation that works tirelessly to undermine our Constitution? The hiking organization isn't promoting just hiking, it is promoting the taking of private property.

That's exactly the problem, friends. You can't join a hiking organization. You can't join the Chamber of Commerce. You can't join the local Community Foundation. You can't join anything anymore without researching who is being funded with your dues. (I've had the same disappointment with even the local art guild who now is filled with advocates for socialism. Why should an art guild maintain tax deferred status while promoting a political agenda?) Like the unions were taken over by the global socialists, even hiking and biking orgs. have been taken over by rabid socialist communitarians who despise the American Constitution and individual rights.

You are known by the company you keep. If you want to fight the socialist machine in America, you are required to analyze and reject those organizations who are now led by collectivists, and are driven by global foundations such as the Ford Foundation. The company I keep is the Tea Party movement which is trying to save America from the entrenched America haters who live here and fund these anti-American efforts in nearly all aspects of our society.

The flood is upon us. The socialist machine has reached peak infiltration. Our government has given them free reign and allowed them tax preferred status through non-profit tax breaks. All levels of our government have been cooperating with this, bought and paid for by American tax payers. This needs to be exposed and stopped.

I hope you will stand with the Tea Party. I hope you will carefully research what organizations you join and reject those who are working against our goals of saving the nation.

SUBSIDIES AND TAX BREAKS FOR BOONDOGGLES

Days like today, I wonder if most people have a clue about how much money is being stolen from them in taxes, today's taxes, and all of the future taxes to pay for the national and state debts. Learning about the electric car chargers being placed into our communities recently is reminding me of just how much of our government has been co-opted by environmentalist zealots. I mean "co-opted" because most people are unaware of the policies affecting their taxes that are being put into place. I say "zealots" because environmentalists cannot seem to put a price on unfounded scientific theories. To them, there is no limit to how much public money they will pour down the drain as long as they are getting paid for their supposed adoration of the earth. They have promoted themselves to sainthood, all the while lying and stealing to do their damage to the economic, energy, and freedom structures of our country.

If you have been reading my blog for the past two years, you know already that I am not a fan (pun intended) of wind farms. And I hope you realize from my last several posts that I am very much against using our taxes to manipulate the guaranteed property rights of our citizens. I understand using tax money for the necessary infrastructures to support our society. By that I mean enforcing non-pollution policies included along with the usual things you think of such as roads, bridges, utility access, et al. You see, I am not for polluting our resources out of existence, but I am also not an advocate for government ownership of the air, water, and land. Unfortunately, environmentalists are determined to force you and me to pay for the government appropriation of all things.

Using our tax money for boondoggles such as manufacturing smart cars, putting up electric car chargers, bought from GE as a kickback from Obama, all over our cities, and, in the case below, creating wind farms, is antithetical to the basic precepts as defined in our Constitution. In other words, manipulating tax laws to support an agenda that is obviously detrimental to our Constitution is abominable.

I don't think we can attack this problem one boondoggle at a time. What we need to do is attack the policies of subsidizing these things. We can't just go after the electric car subsidy, the car charger subsidy, the wind farm subsidy. We are going to have to elect politicians who agree that all of this is going to stop, no more subsidizing private industries with tax money. That includes ethanol among 50 thousand other subsidies. If the taxes being stolen for boondoggles were turned back to the private sector, the money would flow into the proper businesses by virtue of investing. Is that too much to ask?

From the Daily Beast on Government Subsidizing the Chevy Volt

"The media’s coverage of the electric-car sector demonstrates more than 100 years of gullibility. The gee-whiz factor of electric cars with their big batteries, small motors, and whisper-quiet locomotion appears to be so dazzling that reporters willingly give up their skepticism like star-struck groupies surrendering their panties.

That same lack of skepticism may explain why the Senate wants to throw hundreds of millions of additional dollars at electric cars without braking to consider the problems of physics and consumer demand. And those two factors are undoubtedly the biggest problems for the future of the electric-vehicle market. On a gravimetric basis, gasoline has 80 times the energy density of the best lithium-ion batteries. Of course, electric-car supporters will immediately retort that electric motors are about four times more efficient than internal combustion engines. Fine. Even with that four-fold advantage in efficiency, gasoline still has 20 times the energy density of batteries. And that is an essential advantage when it comes to automobiles, where weight, storage space, and of course range are critical considerations."

Read below to find some more information on the awesome insanity of government intrusion and theft to support wind farms:

From Anti Green Blogspot - also linked in my sidebar to the right

"Made in China turbines are shipped to the USA, trucked to their final destinations, and installed on huge concrete platforms; new backup gas generating plants are built; and hundreds of miles of new transmission lines are constructed. That means still more steel, copper, concrete, fuel and land. Moreover, the backup power plants generate more pollution and carbon dioxide than if they could simply run at full capacity, because as backups for turbines they must operate constantly but ramp up to full power, and back down, numerous times daily, in response to shifting wind speeds.

Wind farms require roads and 700-1000 ton concrete-and-rebar foundations, which affect water drainage patterns in farm country. The 300-500 foot tall turbines affect scenery, interfere with or prevent crop dusting over hundreds of acres, and kill countless birds and bats. Farmers who lease their land for wind turbines receive substantial royalty payments; neighbors are impacted, but receive no compensation.

Despite these ecological costs, wind farm projects are often fast-tracked through NEPA and other environmental review processes, and are exempted from endangered species and migratory bird laws that can result in multi-million-dollar fines for oil, gas and coal operators, for a fraction of the carnage.

Perhaps worst, all this is supported generously by renewable energy mandates, tax breaks, feed-in tariffs, “prioritized loading orders,” and other subsidies, courtesy of state and federal governments and taxpayers. In fact, wind power gets 90 times more in federal subsidies than do coal and natural gas, per megawatt-hour of electricity actually generated, according to US Energy Information Administration data. And wind-based electricity costs consumers several times more per kilowatt-hour than far more reliable electricity from coal, gas and nuclear power plants.
Simply put, the wind might be free, when it blows. But the rest of the “renewable, green, eco-friendly” wind energy system is anything but.

It might be far better all around to simply build the most efficient, lowest-polluting coal, gas and nuclear generating plants possible, let them run at full capacity 24/7/365 – and just skip the wind power.
"

So there it is. It is all the same insanity. Not one good reason to construct wind farms. Really. I can think of none. All of the arguments against. You can say the same for the electric car chargers popping up all over the place...no good reason for this. Yet our government is wasting our money, our time, our energy, our lives, our lands, all to produce another bad idea that has no place in our environment or our economy. Not to mention the Constitutional question of using our taxes for such damaging policies.

We must get a grip on the environmental policies that are ripping our economy and Constitution to shreds. Question (y)our legislators. Demand the cutting of environmental incentives and subsidies supporting boondoggles and environmental insanity. Turn the country back to reasonable, responsible ownership of land by citizens. And turn the country back to private investment. The public should not be forced to take the risks for stupidity.

WHO'S IN CHARGE OF YOUR ELECTRICITY USE?

First the facts:

Excerpt:
"Despite the roadblocks, companies continue to invest heavily in meters. On Sept. 2, Cisco announced plans to buy Arch Rock, a San Francisco company that makes wireless technology to transmit data from smart meters to utilities. Says Charles Carmel, Cisco's vice-president for corporate development: "The smart grid will be a multibillion-dollar opportunity for players like Cisco and others for a number of years to come."

 Excerpt:
"Other utilities powering customers in states such as California, Colorado or Miami are also moving forward, such as Colorado Springs Utilities’ Automated Meter Reading (AMR) project. The project has been going for four years— aiming at over 530,000 installed smart meters (for electric, natural gas and water by 2010)— and has partnered with General Electric to install an Outage Management System (OMS) there."

"In the south, rapidly approaching targeted smart meter deployment is Austin Energy in Texas—a state that has its own power grid, avoiding federal processes. The utility expects to complete smart meter deployment this year."

"Even international companies are gaining footholds in the American smart electrical grid. In an effort headed by the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization, 20-30 million of Japanese government funds will be going towards initial grid development in a yet unknown New Mexico town."

"GE is not only working in Colorado Springs and in Miami-- but will also in the United Kingdom, who are working towards total residential smart meter implementation by 2020. GE’s smart meters are being employed by the government-led Energy Demand Research Project, a study that is working to determine consumer responses to improved energy consumption information. Korea announced last week new smart grid plans and Amsterdam’s Smart City Program has begun to install energy-saving technology from IBM and Cisco."

Excerpt:
"The North Carolina Utilities Commission approved the program Monday.
The program’s goal is to reduce residential energy consumption by refining and controlling the use of power. It also will help Duke determine how to integrate small solar generators and energy-storage technologies to reduce peak demand and improve reliability.
Customers can fine-tune their energy use themselves or allow Duke to do so according to options the customers set."

It always starts out as benign, doesn't it?  "We're here from the government and we're here to help you."  Oh sure.  And I just fell off a turnip truck.

I'm so grateful, as I write this, that so far the "Smart Grid" meter has not been forced upon our house.  I set my own temperatures.  We buy what energy we need, nothing more and nothing less.  I can turn on my clothes washer when we need to wash the clothes.  Same with the dishwasher.  We take baths when we need them. We use lights when we need them, not when we don't.  Etc.

This is not going to last.  Energy is a commodity that was once a matter of supply and demand. Enterprising private utility companies used to operate outside of government.  People could buy from Utility X, Y, or Z and government was not in the picture except to secure rights of way for utility carriers.  Sometime ago, cities got into the utility business.  Now the States are doing their best to take over the energy business.  The food chain, where the big fish eat the little fish, is alive and well in the government energy business.  And don't be fooled that the Feds will let that be.  We will have nationalized energy services at some point.

In America we have had energy to purchase for our needs.  That is going to change.  Someone else is going to decide how much or how little energy we are allowed to have for what purposes.  That someone or someones are coming from the Federal government.  Just as the government has involved itself in agriculture with subsidies to manipulate the prices and uses of crops, the government is going into the energy business in a big way.  It's all for your own good you know.  Their excuse?  Saving the planet from your horrible warm house and pot of coffee.

So, who gave the keys to your electric meter on your house to the government?  You didn't.  I didn't.  But bureaucrats who say they know better than you and I have stolen those keys and now they will decide on your energy usage habits.  Our State and Federal legislatures are pouring our own tax dollars into "Smart Grid" programs, through the Stimulus Bill or other appropriations.  Your utility company is being regulated by States and Federal governments to control your use of energy.  At first they tell you it is to save you money, and/or it is to protect the energy supply, and/or "let us do it for you."

(as an aside, someone I know personally has said to me that "they must know better than we do because that's their job."  OMG....I can't even pretend to address such ignorance.  I wonder how anyone with the brain of an ant could think that at this point.  She also always asks, "Well, what is in it for them?"  She says, "They don't have any reason to do this, but for our own good."  Can you say "Lobbyist money," I ask her?  She rolls her eyes, not buying my explanation. )

I go back and forth on the idea of purchasing a generator for our house.  I think I need to stop going back and forth and just do it.  One thing that stops me is the possibility of the lack of gasoline to run the thing in case that supply runs dry and/or the price of gasoline due to our "dear leader."  In years past we never had power outages.  Unless there was some really terrible storm, our power never went out.  Now we get them on occasions that aren't even storm related.  No idea why, just blips and brown outs.

Rain barrels are on my list of things we should possibly buy.  Funny, but I wonder if everyone had rain barrels, how low would the creeks get from lack of run off water to fill them up. We could be charged extra for the gallons we catch off of our roofs because we are greedily keeping the run-off for ourselves and not sharing it with the ground and the creeks.  Dammed if you do, dammed if you don't.  That is how environmental Socialists think.

I think about what it would be like to go off the grid altogether, but I'm no longer 30 years old and the prospects of living like my great-grandparents lived sends me into depths of despair at my age.  They lived off the land.  It was not easy, those were hard lives.   I remember my grandmother's hand wringer washing machine with the crank on the side of the wringer apparatus.  When I was a kid, there were still those washboards around that you used to scrub your knuckles bare in attempts to wash the clothes.  My great-grandmother's hands were gnarled and arthritic from all of her hard labor.  There were good aspects of their lives.  They farmed and had really great food.  They canned the vegetables and fruits and had cold cellars in which to keep the canned goods.  My grandmother's house was full of warmth and generosity.  I have some lovely quilts she and my great-grandmother made and I cherish them.  They were made from leftovers of shirts and dresses, so when I look at the fabrics I can treasure the picture in my mind of them wearing those clothes.  It's funny how a child notices hands, especially the caring hands of grandmothers.  But they were old long before we are old.  Hard labor takes its toll on people.

Has anyone out there even read Karl Marx?  (that is except for the Progressive Socialists in our government?) We are not ruled by idiots.  We are ruled by very sly, clever, elitist, control freaks who will rake in billions from Smart Grid technologies.  They already are.  And here we are, just waiting to be economically raped.  Get out the wash boards, the wringers, and the canning jars.  (Will treadle sewing machines make a comeback?)  And God bless our grandparents, wherever they are.

Oh, and by the way, the Obama administration just reinstated the ban on oil drilling and exploration yesterday for at least another six months.  Isn't that just ducky? You can send him thank you notes when you buy that foreign oil at the gas station and pay $6.00 a gallon.

BEDTIME STORY FOR GLOBAL WARMING CHILDREN

This article is also posted at Pundit House.com
There is now so much money being thrown at it, and so many politicians across the globe in on the take, that getting the truth out to the mass public on the fraud of "Climate Change / Global Warming is going to take monumental efforts. The massive dissemination of lies is beyond any scam that the world has ever seen.

Think of the perfect scam to pull in every citizen of every country.  What would it be?   Now think of something that effects everyone on the planet? What would that be? Go deeper. Think of something that effects food supplies and water supplies.  What would that be? Hmmm...maybe the world's climate?  Pick a substance in the natural science of the world that every living thing needs to exist and demonize it. What would that be?  Let's pick CO2.

Now, how could we control every living person on the earth? Create a crisis. What kind of crisis? How about creating a lie that people are ruining the planet by creating CO2, accuse them of killing the planet.  Convince them of this, not by real scientific facts, but by manipulating data and creating fictional graphs. How would you convince scientists to promote your lie?  You would offer them government and U.N. grants to prove your crisis. Scientists love money just as much as the next guy, plus they want money to fund their experiments at universities. Further, you can use every natural disaster to back you up.  An earthquake in Chile?  Must be too many cars on the roads.  A hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico?  Must be too many factories.  A tornado in Kansas?  Must be too much dust from cattle farms.  An oil rig blows up?  It must have happened because people use machines that use oil.  A glacier melts and freezes again?  Must be too many pieces of bacon on the breakfast plate.  A tornado in Arkansas?  Must be those incandescent light bulbs people use. Floods in Pakistan? Must be the temperature of people' houses. From now on, every single event on the earth is due to who?   People.  People are to blame.  Your neighbors are to blame.  Industries are to blame.  The United States is to blame.  Australia is to blame.  Europe is to blame.  Dumb people are to blame and are wrecking the planet for the Royal Wizards of all things Environmental who want to be paid for the people's stupidity.

So what do you to with all of those shameful, thoughtless, stupid, and horrible people? You figure out a way to control them and make their lives miserable so they will no long proliferate on the planet. You take away their choices of light bulbs, regulate their thermostats, regulate factories out of existence, keep farmers from irrigating their farms, force car manufacturers to make electric cars, make them pay for giant windmills and solar panels, tax them for everything so they can't live in relative comfort.  Make them pay for their transgressions against the planet. The Wizards of all things Environmental will reap the financial rewards of controlling all of these people, who are now so indoctrinated with the lie,  they will pay you, the Wizards, to punish themselves. They will buy the whips and chains and regulations and devices of control for you to use against them.

In order for a scam to work you only need three components. A lie, a person or persons to tell the lie, and useful idiots to believe and become proponents of the lie.

The perfect scam would be to make people pay you to make their lives miserable.  Wizards are very clever.  And once they get power, they don't like giving it up.  The useful idiots who buy the lies are often so prideful that they can't admit they were duped.  This creates a self-perpetuating lie that is difficult to stop.

Responsible environmental stewardship is a valuable thing to teach our children.  Telling them lies which will ruin their lives to make some very evil Wizards rich is a travesty against our children and I believe is child abuse.

NO PRESSURE - 10 10 Society Video

Some of my former friends refused to believe that the Global Warming ideology is a scam.  They refused to believe that people would create such a hoax for power and money.  Some of them just swallow every leftist viewpoint because it is under the Democrat Party umbrella.  Some of them think they are such good people because they are "saving the planet," though these former friends' lifestyles haven't changed and they still drive their SUV's and fly all over the planet.  None of them do any research on the subject, but rather they just listen to sound bites and swoon over the 'saving the polar bears and alligators' tripe.  None of them are walking or riding their bicycles to the grocery.

This post is for them.  They do not know they are playing on the devil's playground.  I'm sorry for them, but I am also hoping they will wake up before it is too late for all of us.  When the smart grid devices are forced upon your house, and manipulated inflation makes your wallet too small to buy necessary goods, when windmills take over all of our prairies and farmland, when young people are taught the ends justify the means,  when our youth has nothing but bleak and dire life ahead, when you wake up everyday with the realization that the planet is still here and your stupid compact fluorescent light bulbs didn't make any difference whatsoever, when Ezekiel Emanuel's / Obama's  "complete lives system" starts eradicating the aged and infirm in our society,   ......then will you shake your heads and ask, "Where did we go wrong?"  People who are sucked into a scam are often too proud to admit they've been scammed.  "Pride goeth before the fall."

The ad above was created to show to children.  You cannot watch this ad without knowing who our enemies are.  These people would kill us all in the name of "Saving the Planet."  Except they think they will be saved and then have the planet to themselves without the rest of us slimy, nasty, blights on Earth.  And there lies the sick joke.  Who do you think they are saving in the end?  And what do you think this ad teaches children?  It's O.K. to blow away anyone who disagrees with you?  What a great message for our next generation.

Below is a list of the companies and NGO's supporting and funding the ad.  Notice Sony is one of them. The ad was produced in the U.K.   After the hew and cry went up against the ad, the 10 10 Society tried to pull the ad from the airways.  But not before it went viral on the internet.  I'm showing it here for those who have not yet seen it and are unsure of how vile the environmentalist Marxist movement has become.

IT"S FOR THE CHILDREN

Yep, those Brits know all about renewable energy. We should follow their lead and make America just like the European model of Cap and Trade. It's the hip thing to do. Our children will love living like those smart Europeans. Gee, I wonder if Gore's newly acquired 9 mil$ house is going to suffer brownouts and blackouts. I wonder if his children and grandchildren will be downsizing and living in huts with peat fires to keep warm. Do you suppose his children only use compact fluorescent light bulbs? What sort of cars do they drive? I wonder if the Gore fleet of private jets is being sent to the compactor for scrap metals. Yeah, European Socialism....now there is a great way to live. By all means....let's follow the Obams into the abyss. Great idea!!

Remember those old stories from grandparents who said, "I walked five miles in the blinding snow to get to school." Now we will have grandchildren saying they walked miles in the freezing dark to save the planet. They will be asking their parents (that's us), "What was it like when you had air-conditioning in summer and warm houses in winter with beautiful lights to read by??" "What was it like when you got to drive carpools with five other kids in a mini-van to go to school?"
See below!!

News release at Big Government.com

Today’s Daily Express (London) opens with a stark reminder that there are consequences to the foolishness being crammed down on you now — and which will be voted upon in the Senate, we are told, at the end of this month.

BRITAIN faces years of blackouts and soaring electricity bills because of the drive toward green power, a leading energy expert warned last night.

A growing obsession with global warming and “renewable” sources threatens the stability of our supply.

Derek Birkett, a former Grid Control Engineer who has a lifetime’s experience in electricity supply throughout Britain, warned that the cost of the crisis could match that of the recent banking collapse.

And he claimed that renewable energy expectations were now nothing more than “dangerous illusions” which would hit consumers hard in the pocket.

SAVE THE BIRDS AND U.S. - FROM WINDMILLS

First, random facts: The cause of most bird deaths in the U.S. is electrical wires. The second cause of bird deaths is.....CATS.

Now that would lead you to believe that I am for eliminating all electrical wires and....CATS. (Furry little murderers) This also might lead you to believe that I am for adding 50 g'zillion million solar panels in the desert and 50 trillion million giant windmills across the plains. But you would be wrong.

Growing up in Ohio, I witnessed controversies over clear-cutting and coal mining operations which devastated the forested hills. Scars on the landscape. Blights on our views. Devastation of habitats. That was then. Now mining operations have improved their methods. They are forbidden to pollute the waters. They are required to put the landscape back after gleaning our much needed fossil fuels. And though years have gone by, fossil fuels are still the best and preferred source of energy. I believe this will be the case until or unless some incredible technology allows us to create energy out of thin air. Energy has to come from some earthly substance. And it needs to come from a source that is abundant enough to fuel a lot of homes and industries. (assuming we will have any industries left in this country after the socialists get through with their diabolical efforts to shut us down)

Wind is the answer? As I have posted before on this subject, wind turbines take more energy to produce than they will ever create. Not only that, they take huge swaths of land. Not only that, they kill migratory birds and raptors because they are placed into landscapes that are on migratory paths, landscapes which have the wind to power eagles and hawks on their way.

From the Financial Post, June 30

"The sprawling $475-million Wolfe Island facility in Frontenac Township off the shores of Kingston, Ont., features 86 wind turbine generators capable of producing 197.8 MW at full capacity — which never occurs because wind is intermittent. The first of two monitoring reports to date, released in February, documented 45 bird fatalities and 45 bat fatalities during May 2009 and June 2009."

"Colliding with blades is hardly the only risk wind power poses to birds and bats. Researchers have also found that the construction of wind farms and associated infrastructure (e.g., buildings, roads and electrical transmission lines) renders wide swaths of habitat less suitable for birds.

"Wind farms also require large plots of open land — an estimated 2.5 acres per turbine, on average. As a result, a variety of wildlife also is affected."

Back to my thoughts here:
"There is nothing new under the sun," says the Bible (Ecclesiastes 1:9) and said my mother who liked to remind me of that passage often. The "Green" movement, which is actually Communist Red on the inside (AKA watermelons), would have you swallow the idea that being "green" means no wildlife will be adversely affected by their energy methods. They would like you to think they are creating some "new" and better way of living. Yet what they promote is no better. More to the point, their schemes are worse for all creatures great and small. They are creating a hostile environment for BOTH people and wildlife. (Witness mercury laden CFL's)

While all of us are seeing the tragedy of the pelicans and turtles in the Gulf of Mexico adversely affected by the BP oil spill, the gut reaction is to exclaim all oil is bad, all fossil fuels are evil, and the "Greenies" have been right all along to eliminate fossil fuels from our lives. This is nonsense of the highest degree. I suggest we must keep the facts in perspective and not react as impulsive children to do things that will make our lives worse and ALSO make things worse or just as bad for wildlife. God has allowed us fossil fuels to use for our benefit. Fossil fuels are not evil. However, some people are evil and will use emotions to unravel civilization. As God has told us, "There is nothing new under the sun."

By Dr. Richard Swier
"
Do You Know How Many Birds Are Killed By Wind Turbines?"
By Dr. Richard Swier | 06/06/10 | 08:39 AM EDT

"I always love it when the main stream media shows pictures of birds covered in oil. On the front pages of major new papers and on TV we see the constant reminder of oil covered birds. It is the ultimate environmentalist's symbol of evil oil killing the innocent bird.

That is fine but do you know how many birds are killed each year by the environmentalists favorite clean energy alternatives - wind farms and wind turbines?

According to the St. Petersburg Times PolitiFact.com:

The latest independent reports estimate the number of birds killed by wind turbines at about 100,000 per year. That's according to a 2007 report from the National Research Council called "Environmental Impacts of Wind-Energy Projects."

The American Bird Conservancy estimated in 2003 that between 10,000 and 40,000 birds were killed each year at wind farms across the country, about 80 percent of which were songbirds and 10 percent birds of prey.

"With the increased capacity over the last seven years, we now estimate that 100,000 – 300,000 birds are killed by wind turbines each year," said Conservancy spokesman Robert Johns.

By our math, that comes to 274 to 822 birds a day killed by wind farms across the country. [Emphasis added]"

This statistic is surely a low estimate and will only increase exponentially as the turbines increase their visual and environmental blight on our landscapes. The only answer to this is to stop allowing them to be erected on our precious lands. Good luck with that as long as Obama kisses the sorry rears of his "green" benefactors.

Another great article on the devastation of birds by wind turbines here

SUSTAINABLE? NOT SO MUCH

Article worth reading on Sustainable Development and what that means to America

The above article is one of the most comprehensive descriptions of what the UN Agenda 21 and Global Government is doing to undermine the principles of liberty and to take down America. Right now there are so many operatives of this agenda in our government that I am not at all sure what it will take to rid ourselves of them. Nothing that is happening is a coincidence. Crises are being orchestrated and manipulated to hand over more power to the Social engineers of Globalism. (Climate Change? Look for Smart Meters at your house soon.)

Local politicians in America are being sucked into the "Smart Growth" policies of the UN. Looking for handouts of Federal money has become the mantra of mayors and city councils. Those handouts come with strings attached. It's called "control." Our local politicians are throwing away our rights and our autonomy, granted to us by God and in the U.S. Constitution. They are doing it to get money for stupid things. A NASCAR Museum. A Teapot Museum. A Whitewater Park. Greenways. Parks. Facades on Main Streets for failing businesses. Meanwhile crying about not enough money for roads, bridges, schools, etc. Let them eat cake? Roman circuses?

The riots in Greece are a harbinger of what is coming to America. Immigrants with no allegiance to our country looking for handouts and free everything....happened in Greece. Unfunded social programs that are bankrupting the country...happened in Greece. Labor Unions demanding Social Justice....happened in Greece. Devaluation of the currency....coming soon here, happened in Greece. (i.e. the Euro) Cap and Trade and the VAT tax....happened in Greece.

What is so undeniably insane is that this socialist model has been proven to fail every time it has been tried. Tyrants don't care about history or truth. All they care about is control of the masses to enrich themselves. It is a recipe for disaster. People's lives are already ruined by Agenda 21, and the EPA's implementation of "biodiversity" projects therein. Note the San Joaquin Valley in California where farms have been shut down and farmers are out of work, packers and truckers are out of work. That is just one example of many. The Kelo decision which annihilates private property rights is another example.

Americans who are duped into thinking they are voting out corporate and government corruption and voting in socialist "feel good" projects to help the poor, are not educating themselves to see the lies behind the politicians' rhetorical nonsense. It is Americans who are committing national suicide by stupidity. Convinced by charlatans of some misplaced undeserved guilt for the plight of poorer nations, Americans with large hearts are not using their heads, and getting sucked down the tubes. And that is what alarms me the most. That is the train coming smack at us that I can't seem to stop. Organizations that started out as charity, such as Hospice, and Habitat for Humanity, are now co-opted by government grants with strings attached. NGO's, Non-profits, and all things that used to be voluntary are being twisted into government obligations. Public schools that used to be operated by states and local communities are now seeped in Federal indoctrination and union led teachers. Youth are being indoctrinated to take up the Obama socialist vision for America. And all of this is being driven by a globalist view for world wide tyranny run by the likes of Al Gore, Maurice Strong, George Soros, all of the usual suspects.

America....helloooooo.....wake up out there.

CO2 IS YOUR FRIEND - Part 2

Original painting by Cheryl A. Pass

Even after the exposure of emails proving corrupted data and manipulation of findings in the IPCC reports on Climate Change / Global Warming, there are still those who cannot give up the dangerous folly of the environmental alarmism. As I have stated in previous posts, the game is extortion and fraud, not real, factual science. Just to satisfy my chilly January soul, I thought I would remind my cyberspace friends that there is some honest scientific reporting out there. I'm publishing the conclusions of an article cited below so that you may put your worried mind at ease and know we are in a better world than you might have thought.....that is if you've had to suffer through the "sky is falling" lies we've been force fed for the past several years. Read and enjoy!!!

Environmental Effects of Increased Atmospheric Carbon Dioxide ARTHUR B. ROBINSON, NOAH E. ROBINSON, AND WILLIE SOON Oregon Institute of Science and Medicine, 2251 Dick George Road, Cave Junction, Oregon 97523 [artr@oism.org]
CONCLUSIONS:
There are no experimental data to support the hypothesis that in - creases in human hydrocarbon use or in atmospheric carbon dioxide and other green house gases are causing or can be expected to cause unfavorable changes in global temperatures, weather, or landscape. There is no reason to limit human production of CO2, CH4, and other minor green house gases as has been proposed (82,83,97,123). We also need not worry about environmental calamities even if the current natural warming trend continues. The Earth has been much warmer during the past 3,000 years without catastrophic effects. Warmer weather extends growing seasons and generally improves the habitability of colder regions. As coal, oil, and natural gas are used to feed and lift from poverty vast numbers of people across the globe, more CO2 will be released into the atmosphere. This will help to maintain and improve the health, longevity, prosperity, and productivity of all people.

The United States and other countries need to produce more energy, not less. The most practical, economical, and environmentally
sound methods available are hydrocarbon and nuclear technologies. Human use of coal, oil, and natural gas has not harmfully warmed the Earth, and the extrapolation of current trends shows that it will not do so in the foreseeable future. The CO2 produced does, however, accelerate the growth rates of plants and also permits plants to grow in drier regions. Animal life, which depends upon plants, also flourishes, and the diversity of plant and animal life is increased.

Human activities are producing part of the rise in CO2 in the atmosphere. Mankind is moving the carbon in coal, oil, and natural gas from below ground to the atmosphere, where it is available for conversion into living things. We are living in an increasingly lush environment of plants and animals as a result of this CO2 increase. Our children will therefore enjoy an Earth with far more plant and animal life than that with which we now are blessed.
