"I CAN'T MAKE YOU LOVE ME IF YOU DON'T"

That title of that song came into my head this morning.  You know, the Bonnie Raitt song from the '90's, "I Can't Make You Love Me If You Don't."  America is a living, breathing, system of life that has just been rejected by half of the people who live on this land.  As an American, I feel jilted.  Teased, lied to, economically raped, and jilted by 50%+ of the people who live here.  I may be reduced to using the phrase, "Those people."  "Those people" do not love America, do not love freedom, do not love this nation of opportunity.  "Those people" have bought into dependency and deceit, corruption and power over others.

In 2008, when Obama was elected and the Republicans put up the worst possible candidate ever, I remember thinking, "This is some kind of a bad joke."  Well, the joke is bad, not funny, and is not over. 

You are seeing what happens to freedom when communist ideology is taught to our children for multiple decades, when masses of illegal immigrants pour into America with no allegiance to our Constitution, when the argument for freedom is obliterated by false premises, and when the lessons of history are lost. 

Barack Obama represents the antithesis of the American Constitution.  And evidently 50%+ of the voters in this nation are just fine with that.  Astounding.  But "get used to it,"  I tell myself.  The tipping point came and went.  We just went over the cliff.  The glimmer of hope that was the Romney-Ryan ticket was just that, a glimmer.  But it wasn't to be.  No light at the end of the tunnel...even a glimmer was rejected.

Twice now.  The past two election seasons the Republicans have put a "moderate" left-leaning candidate up for election.  And twice now the nation has rejected them.  My opinion is that the "moderate" is no substitute for the real thing.  The "moderate" is nothing more than a cheaper version of the Democrat.  What is the point?  I don't know if there were conservatives who stayed home and didn't vote for that reason....or if there are just not enough conservatives to matter anymore.  I do know the left defined Mitt Romney.  In fact, George Soros early on said there was basically no difference between Romney and Obama.  What does that tell the Republican leadership?  Or were they even paying attention to that. One thing I might add here is that "neo-cons" are not winning these elections.

I'm hearing from family and friends who are more than disappointed.  More like being hit in the solar plexis.  Gut wrenching pain.  I hesitate to say that when I know it makes the left jump up and down with glee.  The feeling I have today and had in 2008 is just like the rejection I have felt from being jilted by a lover.  Gut wrenching pain.  I love my America.  I loved my fellow Americans.  Now what? Who are "those people?"

The Dow is down 315 points as I write this.  The pain is not going to stop today.  It is just beginning.  The cure for that pain is to take a different path, get a new attitude, thank God for the lesson, move away from those who mock you, stick to who you are, lick your wounds, but pick yourself up and keep going.  Learn you are not powerless.  Live your life the best you can under the circumstances.  Don't "get over it."  Take the lesson in.  Realize "those people" do not love the America you love.  They don't even know what that means. 

We have maybe three choices.  #1. Just go along to get along and learn to play the dependency game.  This involves swallowing your principles and just soak the government (and your grandchildren) for all its worth.....which is not my recommendation.  #2. Keep on fighting for what we know is right.  #3. Hunker down and try to ride it out.  The last two choices may be combined somehow.  I'm working on that as I write.

Other bad news:  Mia Love lost.  Allen West lost.  (?? Update: Today, Nov. 9th, I am hearing that one is in recount and may go to court.) The Senate continues to be held by Democrats.  Elizabeth Warren, for God's sake?  Really?  The lying, self-aggrandizing, all government all the time, Elizabeth Warren?  That alone is so disgusting as to make you realize there are idiots in Massachusetts.  All in all a lot of thugs won and some very good and decent people lost.  

Today is not the day to pick yourself up.  Today is the day to lick wounds and absorb the bad news.  I think some inner healing will have to take place before we can gather our strength again.  Meanwhile...get the message:  You can't make someone love America if they don't.  You have to overwhelm "those people" who don't love America and remove them from power.  We are in an ideological war.  A psychological war.  An economic war.  And the war is forced upon us from enemies within our nation.  We know who they are.  Slaves of the Federal government.  They want to be slaves?  They want you and your children to be slaves right along with them.  Idiots.

I'm not sure what small little treasured experience comforts you in bad times.  But whatever it is, do it today.  Hot chocolate?  Fried mashed potato cakes?  A long hot bath?  Krispy Kreme doughnuts.  A hot fudge sundae at Dairy Queen?  Well...I just mentioned a few of mine.  Whatever it takes for you, do it. 

I think we are done.  Stick a fork in America.  At least today, I have to say that.  I am also spending a good bit of mental energy wondering what God has in mind.  That is to say, we have not been raptured and we are still here, so I will be spending some time reflecting on what to do next.  Same with you, I guess.  We'll talk again soon.....I hope.

SUBSIDIES AND TAX BREAKS FOR BOONDOGGLES

Days like today, I wonder if most people have a clue about how much money is being stolen from them in taxes, today's taxes, and all of the future taxes to pay for the national and state debts. Learning about the electric car chargers being placed into our communities recently is reminding me of just how much of our government has been co-opted by environmentalist zealots. I mean "co-opted" because most people are unaware of the policies affecting their taxes that are being put into place. I say "zealots" because environmentalists cannot seem to put a price on unfounded scientific theories. To them, there is no limit to how much public money they will pour down the drain as long as they are getting paid for their supposed adoration of the earth. They have promoted themselves to sainthood, all the while lying and stealing to do their damage to the economic, energy, and freedom structures of our country.

If you have been reading my blog for the past two years, you know already that I am not a fan (pun intended) of wind farms. And I hope you realize from my last several posts that I am very much against using our taxes to manipulate the guaranteed property rights of our citizens. I understand using tax money for the necessary infrastructures to support our society. By that I mean enforcing non-pollution policies included along with the usual things you think of such as roads, bridges, utility access, et al. You see, I am not for polluting our resources out of existence, but I am also not an advocate for government ownership of the air, water, and land. Unfortunately, environmentalists are determined to force you and me to pay for the government appropriation of all things.

Using our tax money for boondoggles such as manufacturing smart cars, putting up electric car chargers, bought from GE as a kickback from Obama, all over our cities, and, in the case below, creating wind farms, is antithetical to the basic precepts as defined in our Constitution. In other words, manipulating tax laws to support an agenda that is obviously detrimental to our Constitution is abominable.

I don't think we can attack this problem one boondoggle at a time. What we need to do is attack the policies of subsidizing these things. We can't just go after the electric car subsidy, the car charger subsidy, the wind farm subsidy. We are going to have to elect politicians who agree that all of this is going to stop, no more subsidizing private industries with tax money. That includes ethanol among 50 thousand other subsidies. If the taxes being stolen for boondoggles were turned back to the private sector, the money would flow into the proper businesses by virtue of investing. Is that too much to ask?

The gee-whiz factor of electric cars with their big batteries, small motors, and whisper-quiet locomotion appears to be so dazzling that reporters willingly give up their skepticism like star-struck groupies surrendering their panties.

That same lack of skepticism may explain why the Senate wants to throw hundreds of millions of additional dollars at electric cars without braking to consider the problems of physics and consumer demand. And those two factors are undoubtedly the biggest problems for the future of the electric-vehicle market. On a gravimetric basis, gasoline has 80 times the energy density of the best lithium-ion batteries. Of course, electric-car supporters will immediately retort that electric motors are about four times more efficient than internal combustion engines. Fine. Even with that four-fold advantage in efficiency, gasoline still has 20 times the energy density of batteries. And that is an essential advantage when it comes to automobiles, where weight, storage space, and of course range are critical considerations."

"Made in China turbines are shipped to the USA, trucked to their final destinations, and installed on huge concrete platforms; new backup gas generating plants are built; and hundreds of miles of new transmission lines are constructed. That means still more steel, copper, concrete, fuel and land. Moreover, the backup power plants generate more pollution and carbon dioxide than if they could simply run at full capacity, because as backups for turbines they must operate constantly but ramp up to full power, and back down, numerous times daily, in response to shifting wind speeds.

Wind farms require roads and 700-1000 ton concrete-and-rebar foundations, which affect water drainage patterns in farm country. The 300-500 foot tall turbines affect scenery, interfere with or prevent crop dusting over hundreds of acres, and kill countless birds and bats. Farmers who lease their land for wind turbines receive substantial royalty payments; neighbors are impacted, but receive no compensation.

Despite these ecological costs, wind farm projects are often fast-tracked through NEPA and other environmental review processes, and are exempted from endangered species and migratory bird laws that can result in multi-million-dollar fines for oil, gas and coal operators, for a fraction of the carnage.

Perhaps worst, all this is supported generously by renewable energy mandates, tax breaks, feed-in tariffs, “prioritized loading orders,” and other subsidies, courtesy of state and federal governments and taxpayers. In fact, wind power gets 90 times more in federal subsidies than do coal and natural gas, per megawatt-hour of electricity actually generated, according to US Energy Information Administration data. And wind-based electricity costs consumers several times more per kilowatt-hour than far more reliable electricity from coal, gas and nuclear power plants.
Simply put, the wind might be free, when it blows. But the rest of the “renewable, green, eco-friendly” wind energy system is anything but.

It might be far better all around to simply build the most efficient, lowest-polluting coal, gas and nuclear generating plants possible, let them run at full capacity 24/7/365 – and just skip the wind power. "

So there it is. It is all the same insanity. Not one good reason to construct wind farms. Really. I can think of none. All of the arguments against. You can say the same for the electric car chargers popping up all over the place...no good reason for this. Yet our government is wasting our money, our time, our energy, our lives, our lands, all to produce another bad idea that has no place in our environment or our economy. Not to mention the Constitutional question of using our taxes for such damaging policies.

We must get a grip on the environmental policies that are ripping our economy and Constitution to shreds. Question (y)our legislators. Demand the cutting of environmental incentives and subsidies supporting boondoggles and environmental insanity. Turn the country back to reasonable, responsible ownership of land by citizens. And turn the country back to private investment. The public should not be forced to take the risks for stupidity.

WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE AND WHAT ARE THEY DOING TO AMERICA?

I'd like to introduce you to Carol Browner. She is Obama's Director of the White House Office of Energy and Climate Change. She was also the former administrator of Bill Clinton's Environmental Protection Agency. According to Wikepedia, she worked as legislative director from 1988 to 1991 for then Senator Al Gore. From 1991 to 1993 she was the head of the Florida Environmental Protection Agency. What Wikepedia doesn't tell you Reference Washington Times article is that Carol Browner was also listed as one of 14 members of a Socialist group called the Commission for a Sustainable World Society, under the umbrella group called Socialists International, which just happens to be a George Soros funded organization. The Commission for a Sustainable World Society calls for global governance and proposes that "rich" countries must shrink their economies to address "climate change." She was on the board of directors of the League of Conservation Voters, the Center for American Progress, and former Vice President Gore's Alliance for Climate Protection. In other words, Ms. Browner is in the business of undermining the American economy in order to promote some socialist idea that America is using up too much energy and resources. Carol Browner's philosophy is Barack Obama's philosophy, which is why he chose her to fill the Energy and Climate Czar position. If you ever were sitting there scratching your head and asking yourself why is our government seeming to destroy businesses, sending more business overseas, and promoting caps on American energy sources and usage, you were not just making it up. That is exactly the plan and they are very busy at implementing it.

So lately you are seeing frenetic amounts of "Green" TV and advertisements for a Copenhagen treaty. And next you might be asking yourself, what is the Copenhagen Treaty? The Copenhagen Treaty is the Kyoto Treaty on steroids. You see socialists / environmentalists are not satisfied with banning off shore drilling, banning nuclear plants, exploration for shale oil, etc. in America. They want a global treaty signed, sealed and delivered that our country will not produce the necessary fossil fuels or clean coal or nuclear power in order to "sustain" our way of life, including our manufacturing industries as well as our homes. The Copenhagen Treaty is putting slick ads on TV to convince the American public that this is THE definitive global answer to saving our dear planet. To swallow this, you have to first agree that the planet is sick and dying because of those dastardly humans. Since Carol Browner is a protege of Al Gore and has drunk more than a few gallons of inconvenient Kool-ade, she is convinced that the very necessary component of life on earth, carbon dioxide, is a deadly toxin. (Truthfully, I don't think either she or Al Gore believe that, but they want you to believe it so they can make gobs and tons of money on carbon offsets.) This demonization of carbon dioxide is the perfect foil to deny innocent and uneducated people of their ability to use energy to produce anything. Browner, Gore, and Obama are in the business of guilting you into thinking that using energy to live is a crime against mother earth.

But back to Carol Browner. Because she has been placed into the position of Director of Energy and Climate Change, she is now gifted the wand of regulating energy use in the United States without congressional approval. She can put forth edicts that businesses and homeowners must follow, restricting manufacturing, building, heating and cooling homes, etc., without one ounce of agreement from Congress or the people of the United States. At the moment Ms. Browner is lamenting the fact that Cap and Trade is not a signed bill by the President, so she cannot go to Copenhagen with the announcement that Obama has already devastated the energy sector in the U.S. She wanted to go to Copenhagen to sign onto the treaty and make the announcement that Obama and Congress have already rationed our use of energy. Poor Carol. She was so excited to sign onto the Copenhagen Treaty which proposes that every advanced country be taxed 0.7% on its GDP. In the United States, based on 2008 figures, that means $99.82 billion of our tax dollars going to some global environmental organization who wishes to redistribute that wealth to God knows who or where. Last time I looked at the debt clock, America is already up to its eyeballs in debt, so by all means, lets just borrow more money to pay some global socialists on the ruse of "environmental justice." America, already being the most environmentally responsible country on the planet, should absolutely pay all those other people for something. For what, I can only imagine.

The Copenhagen Treaty takes away the sovereign decision making of any participating country to manage its own energy strategies. Furthermore, it is, as Barack Obama's policies all embrace, a socialist wealth redistribution format where "rich" countries are to compensate "poor" countries as on page 122, Item 17: [[Developed [and developing] countries] [Developed and developing country Parties] [All Parties] [shall] [should]:]
(a) Compensate for damage to the LDCs’ economy and also compensate for lost opportunities, resources, lives, land and dignity, as many will become environmental refugees;
(b) Africa, in the context of environmental justice, should be equitably compensated for environmental, social and economic losses arising from the implementation of response measures.

Coincidentally, the treaty paragraph shown happens to throw money at Africa for "environmental justice." I don't know about you, but I don't happen to know of any reason why American taxpayers should be on the hook for some arbitrary "environmental injustice" that none of the everyday taxpayers caused. This is interesting to me in the context of national angst over money going overseas to pay for oil. Now, instead of paying for oil, this crowd wants American money to go overseas to pay for "environmental justice?" Hmmmm...how does that work? I'm still trying to figure out the dire sentence there that ends with "dignity, as many will become environmental refugees." We certainly aren't "compensating" the farmers in the San Joaquin Valley in California who are experiencing a drought and the EPA will not allow irrigation to the farms on the ruse of saving a micro sized fish. Wouldn't you classify them as "environmental refugees," having lost their businesses and livelihoods? If we are going to compensate for environmental decisions, how about saving those American farmers from destitution??

So far the Obama administration seems determined to bleed the American public dry, on all issues; health care, environmentalism, finance, all of them. Just like the Health Care bills are not about Health Care, neither is Cap and Trade nor the Copenhagen Treaty about environmental responsibility. It's all about wealth distribution, away from Americans and into the pockets of special interests, lobbyists, globalists, unions, and favored causes of the Socialist Party. While you are contemplating this, remember that none of these global thieves are going to be riding bicycles to retrieve their groceries. They will still be riding around in the sleek private jets with motorcades awaiting them and other people will be bringing in their groceries. They are in the business of making you pay for their lifestyles while you are wondering how to heat your house this winter or keep your job. Their carbon footprints are not shrinking while yours are. Turning off your lights may lower your electric bill, but it does nothing to increase energy in some under-developed country. You can also remember that making Americans poorer is not going to make one African richer. The generosity of Americans can only come from a vibrant and industrious nation, one we used to have and are losing by the minute.

That's who they are and that's what they do. Redistribute the wealth. And they are doing it to us, America.

Addendum: The New America - article by William F. Jasper "The Earth-saving, jet-setting Gore (whose Tennessee mansion has a "carbon footprint" 20 times that of the average American family) is a collectivist ideologue who gives every indication of being in the green game for power and prestige as much as (or more than) for the money. He and his fellow globalists want to "transform" the world, to remake it to their own desires. The green path is their road not only to pelf, but also to power.

Enemies More Domestic

After years of the left and the media demonizing Senator Joseph McCarthy, time has proven that McCarthy was correct in his allegations against the Communist threat infiltrating the American government. This actually was proven a few years ago (look at this) so Hollywood launched a movie (look at this) on the spot, starring George Clooney, to once again smear McCarthy and undermine the truth. The oath taken by government officials in current times to "protect America from enemies both foreign and domestic" has become nothing more than a joke because of Socialist corruption in our government. So many of them are "domestic" enemies, that they might as well be swearing on a stack of comic books. In that light, I want to say I admire Joseph McCarthy and his courage to expose the Communist plotters who wanted to take down the United States.

Why am I concerned with this now? You know the saying...those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it. As I've said previously, I am not usually prone to jump onto "conspiracy" theories. I don't like walking around the earth paranoid. It isn't comfortable and not my usual nature. But I also can't just sit here and watch my country get lied to day after day and watch my children's futures just get sucked down the tubes.

But, as my post (two posts down) shows, there are "card carrying" Socialists in our government. Is a Socialist a Communist? Well....what do you think? Ask Marx!

When Communism got slapped down in the 1930's the ideology did not go away. It morphed. The very insidious enemy of the United States decided to change it's vocabulary to make it more palatable. (put a whole lotta ketchup on that cardboard sandwich.) They realized they weren't going to subvert America in one generation. They took the "death by inches" (also known as "death by a thousand cuts) approach. They decided they would hide the "Communist" moniker and go for the "Socialist" nomenclature. They have co-opted the word Democracy, making you think that Democracy means a guaranteed result of wealth for everyone. Now, instead of calling themselves "Liberals" they call themselves "Progressives." So clever they are. What person is going to say they don't want "Progress?" If you don't want "Progress," why, you must be an old fuddy duddy stick in the mud who is passe.....think "Bitter Clinger." One of their most effective strategies is to redefine the language. And they are succeeding...unless you recognize it and call them exactly what they are: lying Communist traitors.

There are enemies of freedom afoot in our government. They don't believe in freedom. They believe in Communism, totalitarian government rule over all of us. They don't believe in free enterprise. They believe in "Nationalizing" every business / industry in the country. They are doing it by way of "a thousand cuts." The "Stimulus Bill" of today might as well be incorporated into the "Communist Manifesto." That is exactly what it is, in its original form.

If the public would or could wise up to the vocabulary tricks of the Socialists who are taking over our country...then maybe we would have a chance to save ourselves. But as long as Hollywood, the media, and the politicians are going to lie, cheat, steal, subvert freedom, pervert the language we speak, and all the while....call it "Progress" (Hope and Change, see my definitions in previous post)...the air is filled with the stench of a dying corpse of what used to be America.

If you are reading this and you have any courage at all, use your voice to speak out against them. They are showing themselves brashly and with arrogance. You can make a difference by telling them exactly what you think of their Communist / Socialist language.
