GOVERNMENT BY UNELECTED BUREAUCRACY

 "No, Mr. Bureaucrat, I did not elect you and I did not give you power over my life."  "No, I didn't."  "You do not have that authority."  Try telling that to the IRS, the EPA, the NSA, or your local Council of Government for that matter.  

What do you call a system of governance that is not republican government?  The red flags that kept waving in my face, beginning my odyssey into political activism, was the sudden and rapid march of local regulations and policies that seemed to come out of nowhere, enactments of things that had no resemblance to representative government that I had ever seen.  Maybe that is what happened to you?   The local council votes in some strange policy, you scratch your head, and you ask yourself....where in the heck did they get that idea?  Or.....what makes them think they can do that??

A friend of mine is a delegate at the State GOP Convention today. As the subject of Agenda 21 was scheduled for discussion, he called me to shoot him some information on NGO' s.  He was going to prepare a statement to deliver to the body of delegates. Glad to do it, I scrambled the info together for him, but the day was nearly through and the discussion was pushed off to tomorrow.  I'm headed over there tomorrow evening, by which time I hope and pray that the Anti-Agenda 21 Resolution will have passed ...with sharp teeth in it.

His request gave me the chance to re-read the Agenda 21 chapter on NGO's.  The instructions are concise and clear. It says quite plainly that the (every) national government is to include and enable non-governmental organizations into processes and funding.  Read that last sentence over again and let that sink in. The UN is telling member governments to empower NON-governmental organizations,  thereby going around the constitutional process of representative governing.  In some cases they are giving these NGO's taxing authority.  To sweeten the pot, the national (Federal) government creates grants for the NGO's to hire bureaucrats and to put regulations in place. It's like having thousands of little EPA's turned loose in every nook and cranny of the country. The obvious metaphor for this is how cancer cells multiply and spread throughout a body if unchecked. The only check available to the citizens is the elected officials, BUT...the NGO walks into the picture with briefcases of money to bribe otherwise broke localities. Instant caving takes place.  Money...big money...is not available if you don't play the game.  Money talks. Voters suddenly become invisible. Lies are thrown around like candy on Halloween.  The deviant plan succeeds in destroying Constitutional representation of the people. Bingo. Bango. Just like that.

It's not hard to imagine an civilian army of bureaucrats.  They have their orders and you will comply. Now we have an executive ruler in the White House who is giving himself and his army of bureaucrats the tools, paid for with our money, to spy on your every move.  Without provocation, mind you.  Just because he and they can. You don't have to imagine it anymore.  The day has arrived.  Give a bureaucrat that kind of power, and what do you have?  Nazi Germany?  Stalin's Soviet Russia?  Mao's Communist China?   All of the above, only on steroids due to the technological advances of today.  

When I read the Agenda 21 chapter on NGO's again today I thought about how insulting this is to Americans. I'm insulted. Worse than that, I'm disgusted that any elected official in this country would sell out my rights and their duties on the basis of a UN scheme of world governance.  Or on the basis of some special interest NGO.  There are variations on this distorted governing including corporations and non-profits. It is sort of an "anything goes" platform, anything except republicanism

This NGO scheme is just one piece of Agenda 21 that takes away our sovereign rights. The entire thing from cover to cover is anti-American.  You can call it governance of some sort, but you can't make it seem American, or even close to it.  We didn't agree to this. It deviates 180 degrees from our Constitution.  This may sound silly, but as an American I react viscerally to this, by instinct it feels really wrong.

Know (and note) that I am not blaming the UN for what our government is doing to America.  But Agenda 21 is giving a global nod to all leadership of all nations to prosecute these abuses of all of their citizens. Actually, much more than a nod, but a prescription for doing so.  The Founders gave us a firewall against the sort of tyranny erupting in our nation. It's just that we have people determined to rip it down in what they think is a bloodless coup.  So far, that is working in their favor.  Rush Limbaugh is right.  This is a coup d'etat.

The deviance and deception of this UN madness has been going on for 20 years in the United States, since the Rio Earth Summit in 1992....through each U.S. President since and now.  This President has done more to destroy America than all of the others combined, but it's only a monster version of what we have seen coming down the track for years, incrementally and relentlessly.

Tomorrow North Carolinian Republicans have an opportunity to stand against Agenda 21. I hope they carry through. It would be a start....just a start. (Note...I didn't get this published last night...so tomorrow is now today.)

THROWING AWAY ELECTED AUTHORITY AND TRASHING THE CONSTITUTION

Authority is one of those things you question when you are growing up...and rightly so.  After all, if you don't question authority, how do you learn what it means and who to trust with authority over your life?  This is a normal developmental process with children.  Starting with the "Terrible Twos," it is a process.  If all goes well, by the time a child reaches a level of maturity and enters the adult world that person knows a little something about what justifies authority and what doesn't. That is the point of becoming an adult, after all, getting to take charge of one's own life and knowing who has justified authority in our society.  Authority, in a free society, is granted, not forced upon others.

But what happens when people who have been given legitimate authority through the election process in America decide to abdicate the responsibility they have been afforded by others' votes? What happens when the load of responsibilities handed to the elected class becomes so outrageously huge that the elected class willingly hand over their duties to the unelected government employees known as staff or to the unelected bureaucrat class?  We elect people to do a job and lately, all too often, we discover those we elected are not even close to doing that job. 

I've been watching this abdication of duties going on in my city for the last few years, to my consternation and disgust. I've seen policies show up out of nowhere in City Council meetings, policies that make no sense, that have no relevance to anything real, and yet invariably involve growing the bureaucracy by using more and more tax monies. At the same time, the tax coffers shrink and the elected whine about not having enough money for the necessary infrastructure projects. It truly is amazing to watch. We are granting authority to people who show up at ribbon cuttings and Chamber of Commerce meetings, but who hand over the reins for the real work to unelected boards and non-profits.

I did some checking around and found that I am not the only person noticing this.  In fact Amazon has a book by Bill Gertz published in 2008 called "The Failure Factory," on this same subject but focusing on national security.

So then, from my perspective back in the local trenches, here is what we see in the City Council meetings:  Some unelected board representative shows up at the City Council meeting with some perfumed version of a new program involving regulations and / or spending revenues, the discussion briefly describes all sorts of fictional speculative benefits of the program, a vote is called, and in the blink of an eye another coup overtaking our freedom has been swiftly and quietly accomplished.  Slam, bam, thank you ma'am.  We are not privy to any negotiations that might have taken place under the radar or behind closed doors prior to this vote.  The only thing visible for public consumption is the condensed, Cliff Notes version I just described.  And remember, most of the public isn't even watching this at all.

I just told you exactly how Agenda 21 / Sustainable Development has been implemented in the United States.  This is how a bloodless coup takes place...on cat's feet, surreptitiously, insidiously.  This has reached critical stage at this point.  Agenda 21 is in place all over America and is growing every hour of every day.

Here's the deal. If you ask me who is in charge of this government at this point, I will tell you without any doubt, it is the unelected bureaucrat class, as in "soviets."  If you ask me why, I will tell you there are three reasons. The first reason is that government at all levels has become so convoluted and overpowering that no elected official could possibly keep up with it. (For instance, our State legislature had to deal with well over 500 bills this session alone...so many that no human being could possibly dissect and study that many bills. ) Secondly, the majority of elected politicians are in it to be liked and have big egos.  They are easily convinced by staff and lobbyists that they will be adored by the public for accomplishing the passage of so many bills. "See how much I did for you, Joe Citizen!!!"  Thirdly, there's money in this game. I can't begin to understand how that works or explain the many variations of that. (Our local poster child for this is a County Commissioner who has bought properties for which he keeps trying to get tax money spent to increase the values of those properties. )

The bureaucrat class cannot be fired by voters. They aren't vulnerable to popular elections. In fact, they don't go away unless the elected class defunds the bureaucrat class and their positions. It is only the elected officials who have the capability to shut down this bureaucrat class.  And how is that likely when the bureaucrats are enabling the laziness, wallets, and egos of the elected??  One wonders where you can find candidates for elected office who actually will get in there and get rid of this contagious disease that is killing America.

All of this could be fixed if there was a will to do so.  America, where are you?

THE REAL TRAGEDY OF THE COMMONS - MASTERS OF THE EARTH

The phrase "Tragedy of the Commons" entered my mind today like a lightning bolt.  Realizing that the Socialist leftists coming out of universities, for several decades now, believe the example means strict government control of all resources I suddenly thought, "The Commons IS the Tragedy."  The evidence is both historical and contemporary.  The story of The Tragedy of the Commons" was written by an ecologist named Garrett Hardin in 1968.   Hardin blamed farmers for over-grazing a plot of land, land they didn't own but were allowed to use.  According to Hardin, the selfishness of each farmer for over-grazing the land meant that people cannot be left to their own devices when using any of earth's resources.  But what Hardin conveniently leaves out is that the farmers didn't own the land, so they had little to no motivation for protecting that piece of land.  Nor does Hardin recognize the psychological truth that each farmer thought the owner of the land, Boston city government, would manage the land.  Mr. Hardin went further back in history and cited Feudal land use to support his arguments.  His arguments were full of fallacies according to critics in the Wikipedia article.  From all I read on him, Garrett Hardin, being an ideological ecologist, decided that all the land and all resources belong to the "Commons," and therefore you should not be allowed to use anything unless you are controlled by masters of the earth who tell you how and what you can use.   (Mr. Hardin is also a Malthusian population hysteric.)  This "Communitarian" idea has been planted into mindless robots who have stolen the American dream of private ownership and individual freedom away from all of us.  I say "mindless robots" because you really can't believe this tripe if you do have a working mind.  But Hardin's theory has been entrenched into university dogma for many years now, so you can only imagine how many of the indoctrinated have taken positions in the government sector to rule over you.  Hopefully, you can see the irony that the same "masters of the earth," who would have you bow and scrape to them and not allow you to "own" anything, are quite rich and own quite a lot.  Does Ted Turner come to mind?  Even mid-level bureaucrats make more than the average Joe and usually own a chunk of property.  (One I know in my county lives in a cushy $450,000 + house on a lake.) Last I looked, university professors with tenure make quite a lot of money.  Bureaucrats in planning organizations are doing quite well on our tax dollars.

But, let's go back to Boston again and see what the Mayor of that fine city has in store for property owners today, if he gets his way.  Welcome to Boston, where the Commons now includes water, energy, and fossil fuel emissions.  The illustrious Mayor, Mr. Menino, has proposed that all commercial buildings in Boston should begin reporting to the city all water use, energy use, and emissions.  (How they are to determine this "emissions" report is beyond me, but that's what the proposal says.)   Utilities already track and bill water and energy use.  Seems an easy thing to me that the city could just confiscate the data from the utilities, forgetting privacy concerns of course.  And if you think this will only apply to "commercial" buildings in the future, I've got a bridge in Arizona to sell you!

"The information, which would be posted online, would also include Energy Star ratings — energy-efficiency “scores” from 1 to 100 backed by the Environmental Protection Agency.  Menino said the first building owner to participate in the program will be the city, which will report 2012 energy and water use for its buildings by the end of this year."

 I like that, don't you?  Your building data will be posted online!!  And furthermore, you get stars just like in the second grade for your compliance with the "Energy Star" scam.  Woo Hoo!

According the article (linked above from the Boston Globe), San Francisco, Washington, and New York have similar laws on the books already.  I guess that should come as no surprise since all three of those cities are run by serious control addicts, all Democrats.  Supposedly all of this reporting and star rating is enough to bend you, using "behavior modification" techniques.  When that doesn't work, and it won't, next comes the hammer.  They will already know who to target.

Control addicts are everywhere these days.  A dime a dozen.  This same "reporting" idea is endemic in the "Sustainable Communities" grant that has descended upon my area as well as most in the nation.  We are commanded to report our resource use to bureaucrats, who then report the data to the Federal government, who then will condemn us each, individually, to a restricted lifestyle.  Who do we blame for this?  Well, the Mayor of Boston is a clue.  Elected officials are now the enforcers of the "Tragedy of the Commons."  The bureaucrats convinced the elected that we just can't live on privately owned land, use the water we need, or heat our homes as we see fit.  The masters of the earth must manage us.  

As you find the elected masters of the earth in your city, county, or state, begin weeding them out.   It is the only way to stop this madness.  Go out there and start the process of changing from masters to hirelings.  They work for us...not the other way around.  These policies will have to be taken off the books and out of our government.  And, if you aren't willing to do that...well....I give up.  I don't  want to live in a Stalinist / Fascist / Socialist nation.  If you do, I strongly suggest you find one and move there. Oh...and when you do, would you please take these mindless robots with you?

7 STEPS = THE FORMULA FOR THE DESTRUCTION OF AMERICA

After the Robert's decision and after all we have seen over the last decade, you have to realize the U.S. Constitution is being shredded and / or ignored completely.  So realize it.  Take it in.  Breathe deeply, close your eyes, and just take it all in. 

My explanation may be simplistic, but the formula is rather simple at it's core.  Most of my readers can see this, but I am going through this exercise for the sake of a few naive people I know who can't figure this out.  It struck me today to try to articulate this as simply as I can, maybe for my own digestion, but also for someone who may be unable to see how America has been lost.  (At least for now and maybe forever.)

First, think about necessities, i.e. currency, housing, natural resources, transportation, energy, education, health care, and food.  Imagine you want control over all of those necessities in order to control the population.  (No, don't give me that look, like who would want to do that?  Or why would anyone want to do that?  We know who and we know why...so don't even go there.)

Step #1. Create the crisis. Now think about what you would do to command control of all of those sectors.  Each one of the sectors I mention is publicized as being in crisis mode or under shortages.  You know the drill.  "We're running out of energy sources."  "We're running out of natural resources."  "Too many people don't have access to health care."  "Education is failing our students." "We have food deserts."  (Conversely, "we have an obesity epidemic.")  "Banks are evil because people can't get loans."  Conversely, "Money disappearing into the coffers of highly paid executives."...or, "Money is just disappearing a la AIG and J.P. Morgan.")  "Cars are killing the planet."  "Humans and domestic animals create evil greenhouse gases."  "Americans are too wealthy and use up too many resources."  While you are at this, destroy the infrastructure, divert transportation money away from roads and bridges, blow up dams, monitor and restrict farming, etc.

Step #2. Use government power to "fix the crisis."  In your mind, go back to Jimmy Carter.  What did he do?  Crises.  In his case it was the energy (gasoline) crisis, housing and banking.  (Housing was not a crisis, but he hit two birds with one stone on that one because he went after the banks on home loans, creating the Community Reinvestment Act, thereby regulating the banks.  Strangling the banks, more like it.  Forcing them to loan to areas which notoriously were high risk areas.

Now let's go to Bill Clinton.  He doubled down on the banks and housing regulations by putting the CRA on steroids.  Not done, he then created the President's Council on Sustainable Development which hits ALL of the sectors on the pretense of a fictional global environmental crises.  He also refused to go after Bin Laden, but oh well.

Move right along to Bush.  Voilá!  911. A security crisis.  Create the Patriot Act and Homeland Security (HSA).  Warrantless wiretaps.  Airport scanners.  Drones over American land.

All through these years you have the open border policy allowing millions of illegal immigrants into the country.  Voilá!  Another crisis.  More regulations forcing Americans to pay for the illegals. 

All through these years you demand public education curriculum which supports your ideology.  Rewrite history and refuse to teach the tenets of liberty.

Spend until the nation has more debt than the GDP.  Outspend productivity. 

Step #3. Make it global.  Forget the United States as a sovereign nation and wind all of the problems into the global picture.  Both literally and figuratively, make Americans pay the price for global problems that American citizens did not create, but some American government policies did.  Tie us into the IMF so we are on the hook for the EU crisis.  Invest public retirement funds in global markets through the World Bank.  Treaties with the UN that redistribute our sovereign wealth.  Create Free Trade Agreements and Free Trade Zones within our sovereign borders.  Tie us all together in neat little Gordian knots made of your Socialist utopian threads from which we cannot escape.

Step #4.  Use the media (buy the media) to propagate the lies and ridicule anyone who doesn't buy into the lies.  Redefine everything.  Regulate speech (making speech a hate crime) and control internet communications (in process now). Dumb the culture down.  Appoint global progressives or sycophants to the Supreme Court.  Hand power to your fellow travelers in all government agencies.

Step #5.  Hire millions more government employees to handle all of the new regulations.  Use the power of regulations to shut down private sector businesses and / or collude with the larger (too big to fail) industries.  Bailout the 'too big to fail' sectors. Raise taxes to pay for all of this.  Use tax policies to reward or punish citizens.

Step #6.  You are almost done now.  Next, you just start using executive orders. Corrupt the Justice Department.  Corrupt the military mission from defense of the nation to social causes.   Forget the people's House.  Go around Congress.  Make sure the Federal Reserve keeps interest rates at zero.  Print more money to cause inflation.  Corrupt the currency and the banking sector. 

Step #7.  Gloat.  Manage the crises you created while pretending you are solving them.  Manage the perpetual wars.  Vacation in Hawaii and New England.  Play golf.  Party on, Dudes!!!  Your mission is accomplished.  Retire on our dimes.  Build monuments to yourselves.  Your children inherit your lies and wealth, while our children inherit your crises and debts. 

I'm sure I've left some things out here and there.  But that's the crux of the situation.  Did you like being American?  I did.  Did they ask us if we wanted to be global Socialists?  And if they did, did you even understand what that means?  And if you did understand what that means, why did you vote for it? 

Where is our America?

LEFTIST LANDSCAPES AND ROAD SIGNS

Just back from a trip north, driving from North Carolina to Chicago, Illinois. This trip crossed from North Carolina, through Tennessee, Kentucky and Indiana, into Illinois with one tiny corner of Ohio thrown in for good measure. Driving across the countryside is one of the great pleasures of living in America. It used to be more fun, before interstates and when one actually drove through unique and interesting towns. Now the trip is faster due to those interstates, so I guess that's somewhat of a benefit. But, now the towns and cities have all the same stores, and restaurants, lining the edges of the interstates so, other than the terrain, there is not a lot of uniqueness to be seen...sadly. It is the countryside that makes one's heart sing. The mountains, the trees, the rivers, the farmland, etc. The interesting towns with different offerings are a thing of the past. It's as if they lost their sense of who they were and just decided to become a "one size fits all" template. It's all the same Walmarts, Home Depot Stores, Goodies, Comfort Inns, Taco Bells, McDonalds, and Cracker Barrels.

So what did I see on this cross country odyssey? The award for the funniest signs goes to Kentucky. As you cross into the State of Kentucky there is a large blue sign that says: "Welcome to Kentucky - Unbridled Spirit." Which sounded so inviting! I was picturing horses running in pastures and life being so free and wonderful....when, then my eyes landed on another State sign immediately to the left of the Welcome sign. Right beside the Welcome sign of "Unbridled Spirit" is a white rectangle sign with a body strapped into seatbelts....bridled across its chest and its waist. So much for "Unbridled Spirit." They didn't even give you a half a mile to relish the thought. Sigh..... I wondered what marketing expert in the bureaucracy in Kentucky was in charge of placing the signs right next to each other. The irony was both hilarious and sad.

Next up was a huge, aluminum, white, Christian cross. By huge, my best guess is 50 or 60 feet tall. Very substantial and you can't miss it. But just to the side of that sits a pornography store. You know, one of those places that sells raw videos and advertises "Boy Toys." I was wondering which of these received the most acknowledgement from passing travelers. Makes me wonder about the schizophrenic society we are living in.

On through to Indiana, across miles and miles of flat surface with fabulous black dirt and rows of corn fields already harvested. Beautiful rich farmland that, if you stop and think about it, is a blessing beyond our hopes and prayers for food. I saw two large dairy operations, too. Holsteins grazing and a creamery / cheese shop that sounded very tempting!! And then.....and then....

Miles of gigantic windmills covering up this gorgeous land of flat farm fields. Ugly, eerie, and awful. Actually, ugly doesn't begin to describe this. On the way up, none of the blades were turning. Just sitting there, looming like other world aliens hanging over farm houses and barns. These wind turbines are huge. They dwarf everything around them. All I could think of was, when the idiots who did this finally figure out what a failure it is, what will be the public expense to dismantle these monsters and how do you "recycle" those things? On the way back, the wind was blowing more so half of them were spinning slowly around. No birds in sight. No wildlife around. Just thousands and thousands of giant, white, ugly, dominating monsters taking over the beautiful farms and wide skys.

My hate for these windmills is twofold. The first reason is the death of hundreds of thousands of birds annually from these horrible devices. The windfarms are placed into wind corridors where migrating birds have always flown. The birds are no match for these monsters. The tragedy is enormous.

The raptors would get sliced up by the blades on the 5,400 turbines in Altamont Pass, or electrocuted by the wind farm's power lines. Scientists, wildlife agencies and turbine experts came together in an attempt to solve the problem. The result?

Protective measures put in place in an effort to reduce deaths by 50% failed. Deaths in fact soared for three of four bird species studied, said the Altamont Pass Wind Resource Area Bird Fatality Study." USA Today

My second reason is the sheer waste and stupidity of ruining landscapes for a non-productive, unweildy, implausible excuse of replacing fossil fuels with wind energy. Wind energy is undependable, cannot be stored, is twice as expensive to retrieve than what it produces, and is money flushed straight into the toilet. I'd like to take the promoters of this idea and tie them to the blades, leaving them to spin around forever. T Boone Pickens included. A bad idea that should have been stopped before it began.

On the way back into North Carolina I saw two large cotton fields ready to be picked. I thanked the Lord and human genius for automated equipment that would do that job, so people would not suffer from bleeding hands and broken backs. I ran my hand over my cotton shirt and thought about how wonderful are the gifts we are given.

So that's what I saw on my way to and from Chicago...a country gone mad and a country that can produce the most cherished needs for our people. Some inventions are better than others....some people are smarter than others....some things should not be taken for granted....and I'm glad to be home.
