ADDICTED TO THE PROPAGANDA OF CLIMATE CHANGE

The psychology of propaganda is very clever. Think about what makes you want to do something or buy something. And think about the psychology of people who want to make themselves feel good about something. What makes a person feel good? And if doing that something is running around telling everyone to cut their heat down, buy a smaller house on a smaller lot, or get out of their cars, what made them feel good about that? If someone feels good about the 1.5 gallon toilet they own that needs flushing 2 or 3 times, they can go about their daily lives with their ego on cloud nine? Or if they think they are saving the planet by using the inferior light from a CFL... all the better? Right? And if someone feels really really good and superior to other human beings for doing such things, is that addictive?

What causes addiction? Usually it is something that a person does that makes him or her feel, at least temporarily, totally wonderful! (Sex addiction, alcohol addiction, drug addictions, etc.) So how do you get an entire population of scientific numbskulls addicted to a flawed science that will make them do whatever you want them to do? Propaganda. Indoctrination. Money. Behavioral manipulation. Positive or punitive responses. (Pavlov's dog)

Just in case you think our nation is not under a psychological attack, I want to suggest you take a look at the American Psychological Association. Yes, that's right. The American Psychological Association has signed onto a concerted effort to convince the American public of the dire importance of "Climate Change." Article here

A task force has been set up by the nation's psychologists, under the President's direction, to address how to convince the population of the importance of compliance with "Climate Change" doctrine. Copied below from the APA announcement of this:

"The task force’s report reviews a wide range of research and practice relevant to climate change, including work in environmental and conservation psychology, studies of human responses to natural and technological disasters, efforts to encourage environmentally responsible behavior, and research on the psychosocial impacts of climate change."

Among the topics addressed in the report are:

• Perceptions of global warming and climate change risks, including people’s tendency to discount the likelihood of future and remote events and the role of culture in how people conceive of and respond to risks.

• Human behavioral contributions to climate change, such as population growth, energy use, and consumption, and the psychological and contextual drivers of these contributions.

• Psychosocial and mental health impacts of actual and perceived climate change, including stress, anxiety, apathy, and guilt, and interventions to promote coping, adaptation, and healthy responses to climate change.

• Social and community impacts of climate change, socioeconomic disparities in climate change impacts, and ethical and social justice implications of climate change.

• Psychological barriers that limit individual and collective action on climate change.

• Empirically-based approaches to understanding the nature and determinants of behaviors that affect the environment and the development of interventions to alter such behaviors.

I personally believe the people I know who are participating in this hoax, no matter at what amount, are addicted to an ego trip. The appeal is multi-faceted. First it makes a person think they are doing something heroic by sacrificing all kinds of things; money liberty, comfort, time, energy, etc. Secondly, it makes a person adopt a superiority complex by making them feel they are so much better than others for doing these so-called heroic things. Thirdly, when added to a group of like-minded people, it appeals to the herd mentality and makes people think they are part of something BIG (really important).

Americans have been particularly ripe for this sort of propaganda picking. They have had 30 to 60 years of indoctrination in the public schools, for one thing. They have been told for how many years now they need to feel guilty for having a prosperous society, that Americans are too rich compared to the rest of the world. Americans like to think of themselves as strong and willing to do good in the world. The last two generations haven't had the positive feedback for saving the world, as the WWII generation had. Just the opposite. We've been told how greedy and uncaring we are, in spite of "policing" the world and handing out the most foreign aid of any nation on the planet. No. We've been told we are very bad people. So what do folks need to make themselves feel better? "Save the Planet" works for most...even though the entire set up is a monumental lie.

Who would know this better than psychologists? I would further point out that psychologists are not immune to propaganda and the same ego addictions as the rest of the population. Their systemic (excuse the word) insanity in this case is evident for all to see. It is worth reading a resolution put forth by this group HERE.

"Therefore it is resolved that APA recognizes the role of psycho-social processes in perceptions and beliefs about global climate change that can potentially hinder public understanding of global climate change."

"Therefore it is resolved that APA supports psychologists’ involvement in research, education, and community interventions in improving public understanding of global climate change impacts and psychological contributions to mitigation and adaptation efforts that address both environmental and human, including psychological, impacts of Global Climate Change."

So there you have it. I could go on for a long time on the psychology of propaganda using sources from and about tyrannies in the past. But staying on the subject of "Climate Change" as the subject du jour, this time we face a global tyranny, not just a national one...though our nation is in this up to its eyeballs. I find it extremely disappointing that so many fellow Americans are easily duped and vulnerable to such an addiction to propaganda as this. If you doubt me, try to tell someone participating in the madness that they are wasting their money and time buying that Chevy Volt or those stupid CFL's. Good luck with that. Like any addict they will turn on you, growl, and call you every nasty name that comes into their Kool-ade soaked mind.

I mean, if people can access the internet and find out that CO2 is not a harmful greenhouse gas, maybe he is using his bully pulpit for some other goal? It is a very readable, however long, dissertation on the history of how we have landed into an era of corrupt aristocracy that the Founders abhorred and tried their best to avoid. When Progressives of either party use the power of taxation to exalt themselves, annihilate the Constitution, pick winners and losers, and create the "pay to play" game, we are ALL LOSERS. America has become the worst of what we knew as the Soviet Union. It is disgusting and unforgivable. Read the article....you will find the tangled web of bondage woven around us by a "ruling class" which sneaked up through public schools and universities and are now strangling the life out of the American people and our way of life. They are parasites who will eventually kill the host and then.....they will cannibalize the world. The knowledge in the article is enlightening, as it should be. But it is not comforting. The "ruling class" is so entrenched that our knowing does not daunt them. They mock and laugh and thrust the economic knives in harder than ever. Theirs is arrogance at the pinnacle of power.

It is our turn to take that power away and put down their not so "soft revolution" of aristocracy. We will either take back America or we will be suffocated into extinction. It's a choice.

"Two Southern California utilities were awarded more than $125 million in stimulus funds from the Department of Energy today to demonstrate “smart” electric grid systems and test energy storage projects.

A group of 16 awards totaling $435 million went to smart grid programs run through 50 utilities and companies in 21 states. Another 16 grants for $185 million were given to utility-scale energy storage projects, which could help integrate renewable energy options such as wind and solar into the mainstream electricity network."

The gist is that Cathy Zoi is just one of the Obama buddies who is going to rake it in with Cap and Trade legislation should that abomination pass the Senate. Even without the legislation, the march of the left continues through fiat and stimulus money where they implement the not so "Smart Grid" without making it law. They just do it......sort of like the Nike commercials.

In case you aren't aware of the "green" slime crime happening to us without our consent, the two articles above show you just a tip of the iceberg of the corruption and racketeering being perpetrated on the American people in the name of going "green." I can't even fathom how much money is being stolen and how many of these criminals exist who are on the take. Well, it's "green" all right. As in the color of money. And you probably aren't in on the profiteering. Of course the "Smart Grid" is all for your best interest, you know. And we're saving the planet, you know. And we nasty greedy Americans shouldn't be able to adjust our own thermostats, you know. It just wouldn't be fair to Zimbabwe, you know.

Using our tax money and debt laden "Stimulus" dollars, the theft of America is the game of the day. Crime, Inc. is Obama's government. You ain't seen nothing yet.

French Revolution! Carbon tax ruled unconstitutional just two days before taking effect

This new French carbon tax was scheduled to go into law on Jan1, 2010. The tax was steep: 17 euros per ton of carbon dioxide (USD $24.40). In a stunning move, and surely a blow to warmists everywhere, the tax has been found unconstitutional and thrown out. Originally found here (Google Translation).

Lord Monckton was kind enough to assist me in deciphering the meaning of the ruling and writes:

In France, if at least 60 Deputies of the House and 60 Senators appeal to the Constitutional Council, it has the power to pronounce on the constitutionality of a proposed law – in the present case, the 2010 national budget of France, which contained enabling provisions (loi deferee) for a carbon levy. The Council found that these enabling provisions were unconstitutional on two grounds: that the exemptions contained within the provisions for a carbon levy vitiated the primary declared purpose of the levy, to combat carbon emissions and hence “global warming”; and that the exemptions would cause the levy to fall disproportionately on gasoline and heating oils and not on other carbon emissions, thereby breaching the principle that taxation should be evenly and fairly borne.

However, the council’s ruling is a severe blow to both Sarkozy’s environmental plan as well as France’s budget for 2010. The government now has to find a way to come up with about 4.1 billion euros in revenue that was expected from the tax.

AMERICAN ABSOLUTION

No doubt you are seeing the same commercials on TV that I am. You know, the ones with the ethereal sounding voices of children, the visage of celestial iconography, and the word "Hopenhagen" floating across the screen. I wonder if many in America have any clue what the Copenhagen Treaty proposes to do to the sovereignty of the United States. It all looks so Madison Avenue slick and "touchy - feely" warm and fuzzy. Intoning a chant-like mantra designed to appeal to every new-age hippie and their children whose minds are already spinning with guilt for living on the planet, these commercials are designed to make Americans think they are part of some really big worldwide hug. A hug called the Copenhagen Treaty. And of course, President Obama is flitting off with his entourage and huge jets to Copenhagen to put his face all over it in order to make the world believe that he is saving the planet from whom? Us. That's who.
For over sixty years now the left-wing propagandists have been very occupied with convincing Americans that we are very bad people. Forty years ago they grabbed hold of the schools to make sure the children were taught that Americans live on stolen land, built the country using stolen labor, have an illegitimate Constitution written by nasty old white men, and have been using up the planet's resources illegitimately and unfairly. So now we have a population of people, some left wing zealots, some indoctrinated, and some who are just too uneducated to understand, who believe America is a travesty and has no business being more successful than the rest of the world. These people have been led into a twisted guilt trip for just being American. They think Obama will absolve them of their guilt if he just goes to Copenhagen and signs away our guilt to the rest of the world and consigns us to penance payments for decades to come.

First I want to explain what this Copenhagen Treaty says and means, just so you know.

The proposed treaty authorizes the establishment of a "government" to transfer wealth from industrial nations to non-industrial nations in payment of a "climate debt" which, the treaty declares, the industrial nations owe on account of burning carbon-based fuels. The newly created international government is to have the authority to decide issues relating to carbon emissions in signatory nations, the power to levy what amounts to carbon taxes on signatory nations, and the power to enforce its levies without reference to the will of the people who live in the signatory nations.

Thus, the proposed Climate Change Treaty demands that:

• An unelected international government is to be established without the American people voting on its establishment or membership;
• The unelected international government is to have authority to legislate how much and what kind of carbon-based activity Americans may engage in before they will be taxed on such activity;
• The unelected international government is to have authority to decide the amount of taxes Americans must pay for carbon-based activities, determine the people to whom the taxes will be given, and decide how those people will spend the taxes -- and none of those activities will be subject to presidential veto, congressional oversight, or review by the federal Judiciary, much less a vote by the American people;
• If the American people fail to abide by the legislative edicts of the unelected international government, they will be subject to international enforcement proceedings that are alien to our constitutional ideas of due process, equal protection, personal freedom, and property rights.

So, Obama wants to sign a treaty that gives some panel, not authorized by the people of the United States, the power to tax Americans and dictate to Americans just how much energy Americans are allowed to consume for their businesses and their lives. Somehow I'm not feeling the love here. Did Americans knowingly elect a President to sign away American sovereignty and the U.S. Constitution? Did Barack Obama not take the oath to support, defend, and uphold the U.S. Constitution? (The oath was botched and he was subjected to a do-over, as I recall)
And if this isn't bad enough, did Americans actually do anything to worsen the condition of planet earth in the past forty years?

Emails revealed last week from the Climatic Research Unit in Britain proved that the scientists feeding information to the United Nations' International Panel on Climate Change had been manipulating evidence, hiding the truth, and laughing all the way to the bank for years. This information finally shows that lying to get funding research was the norm. It also shows that the assertion that men are to blame for some radical shift in the climate is absurd. It finally exposes the hoax for what it is. It finally exposes Al Gore for what he is, a very clever snake oil salesman who also has been laughing all the way to the bank. The entire reason for the IPCC, the Kyoto Treaty, and the Copenhagen Treaty has been a virtual shakedown of advanced industrial nations.

And finally, this email chain of evidence proves that Americans are not to blame for ruining anyone's planet. While America's population has risen over the past twenty years, our output of pollution has gone down. There is no reason for Americans to feel guilty or pay through the nose for some false data put together by some extortionists for their own gain. Americans can hold their heads up and stop feeling as if we are some scourge on the earth. Americans can be proud of their track record on pollution and stewardship of the earth. America is not a "problem" and should not be held hostage to some ridiculous ransom. Obama needs to get off the Climate Change train because it is heading for a very big crash. And frankly, I think, so is he. The lies are not "sustainable."

whose link is on the right side bar of this blog. Insightful and full of great information, some of which is way over my head, it is always interesting. Today he has this graph and the following editorial. (below) All you have to do is look at that graph to realize America is not the villain in this "supposed" CO2 scare that Al Gore and Co. and Obama want to make you think we are. First, I am not at all convinced that CO2 is any kind of a problem, but rather one of the most necessary components of life here on Earth. Having said that, even if it were, you can see that Americans are not the evil culprits of life-damning actions that the Climate Changelings would have you believe. The leaders of the US, the UK, Australia, and the EU are falling over each other in the attempt to submit their nations to most crippling regime of energy starvation conceivable. Yet it is clear from the chart above, that the US and Europe can not control the rest of the world's carbon emissions.

So the rest of the world accelerates its CO2 spew unhindered by the international climate gestapo. In fact, under proposed new Copenhagen rules, the North America and Europe would have to pay the third world reparations into the $trillions -- while at the same time reducing their own energy output to starvation levels. Why are western leaders so driven to place their nations under such draconian and self-destructive international energy regulations and reparations?

Call it energy anorexia -- the Obama - Pelosi - Brown - Rudd disease. Like anorexia nervosa, energy anorexia is a deadly pathological response to an imagined problem. Energy anorexia threatens the life of the body -- in this case the nation.

There is no greater threat to an industrial economy than the restriction and destruction of its energy base. This tragicomic self-destructive impulse is made all the more pointless by the obvious fact that it will not change anything, in terms of global carbon balances."

A friend of mine has shared an Associated Press article that will give you some insight to how other countries are dealing with the insanity of the Cap and Trade crowd. It's really worth the read. (Below) After you read it, please please please email or call or write your senators and tell them NO...not just NO, but HELL NO on Cap and Trade.

Steve Fielding recently asked the Obama administration to reassure him on the science of man-made global warming. When the administration proved unhelpful, Mr. Fielding decided to vote against climate-change legislation.
If you haven't heard of this politician, it's because he's a member of the Australian Senate. As the U.S. House of Representatives prepares to pass a climate-change bill, the Australian Parliament is preparing to kill its own country's carbon-emissions scheme. Why? A growing number of Australian politicians, scientists and citizens once again doubt the science of human-caused global warming.

Among the many reasons President Barack Obama and the Democratic majority are so intent on quickly jamming a cap-and-trade system through Congress is because the global warming tide is again shifting. It turns out Al Gore and the United Nations (with an assist from the media), did a little too vociferous a job smearing anyone who disagreed with them as "deniers." The backlash has brought the scientific debate roaring back to life in Australia, Europe, Japan and even, if less reported, the U.S.
In April, the Polish Academy of Sciences published a document challenging man-made global warming. In the Czech Republic, where President Vaclav Klaus remains a leading skeptic, today only 11% of the population believes humans play a role. In France, President Nicolas Sarkozy wants to tap Claude Allegre to lead the country's new ministry of industry and innovation. Twenty years ago Mr. Allegre was among the first to trill about man-made global warming, but the geochemist has since recanted. New Zealand last year elected a new government, which immediately suspended the country's weeks-old cap-and-trade program.

The number of skeptics, far from shrinking, is swelling. Oklahoma Sen. Jim Inhofe now counts more than 700 scientists who disagree with the U.N. -- 13 times the number who authored the U.N.'s 2007 climate summary for policymakers. Joanne Simpson, the world's first woman to receive a Ph.D. in meteorology, expressed relief upon her retirement last year that she was finally free to speak "frankly" of her nonbelief. Dr. Kiminori Itoh, a Japanese environmental physical chemist who contributed to a U.N. climate report, dubs man-made warming "the worst scientific scandal in history." Norway's Ivar Giaever, Nobel Prize winner for physics, decries it as the "new religion." A group of 54 noted physicists, led by Princeton's Will Happer, is demanding the American Physical Society revise its position that the science is settled. (Both Nature and Science magazines have refused to run the physicists' open letter.)
The collapse of the "consensus" has been driven by reality. The inconvenient truth is that the earth's temperatures have flat-lined since 2001, despite growing concentrations of C02. Peer-reviewed research has debunked doomsday scenarios about the polar ice caps, hurricanes, malaria, extinctions, rising oceans. A global financial crisis has politicians taking a harder look at the science that would require them to hamstring their economies to rein in carbon.

Credit for Australia's own era of renewed enlightenment goes to Dr. Ian Plimer, a well-known Australian geologist. Earlier this year he published "Heaven and Earth," a damning critique of the "evidence" underpinning man-made global warming. The book is already in its fifth printing. So compelling is it that Paul Sheehan, a noted Australian columnist -- and ardent global warming believer -- in April humbly pronounced it "an evidence-based attack on conformity and orthodoxy, including my own, and a reminder to respect informed dissent and beware of ideology subverting evidence." Australian polls have shown a sharp uptick in public skepticism; the press is back to questioning scientific dogma; blogs are having a field day.

The rise in skepticism also came as Prime Minister Kevin Rudd, elected like Mr. Obama on promises to combat global warming, was attempting his own emissions-reduction scheme. His administration was forced to delay the implementation of the program until at least 2011, just to get the legislation through Australia's House. The Senate was not so easily swayed.

Mr. Fielding, a crucial vote on the bill, was so alarmed by the renewed science debate that he made a fact-finding trip to the U.S., attending the Heartland Institute's annual conference for climate skeptics. He also visited with Joseph Aldy, Mr. Obama's special assistant on energy and the environment, where he challenged the Obama team to address his doubts. They apparently didn't.

This week Mr. Fielding issued a statement: He would not be voting for the bill. He would not risk job losses on "unconvincing green science." The bill is set to founder as the Australian parliament breaks for the winter.

Republicans in the U.S. have, in recent years, turned ever more to the cost arguments against climate legislation. That's made sense in light of the economic crisis. If Speaker Nancy Pelosi fails to push through her bill, it will be because rural and Blue Dog Democrats fret about the economic ramifications. Yet if the rest of the world is any indication, now might be the time for U.S. politicians to re-engage on the science. One thing for sure: They won't be alone.

Below is an editorial I wrote that was published recently by our local newspaper:

The Tyrants of Climate Change

The onslaught against nature, both human nature and the nature of the planet on which we live, by the powerful political environmentalist zealots continues to dismay, disappoint, and disgust me. In order to combat this din of lies and distortions, I am compelled to write to you in order to at least help to educate the public who is ultimately paying a terrible price for being duped.

Motive here is an important factor. Just when you think we have evolved past the elitist structure where royalty take the spoils of the land and from the people who do the labor, now we find ourselves in the largest power grab that has ever taken place in the history of civilization. Think about it. If you can take away and tax the very natural resources people need to live, then you have complete and total power over all of the masses. Cite any tyranny from history and you will see that, where force takes away basic abilities to survive in a particular environment, tyranny wins. The environmentalist movement of today is no different than the tyrannies of the past, taking away basic necessities from the needs of the people. It’s a power grab like you have never seen.

I know that for years the government schools have been indoctrinating students and misrepresenting facts in order to support the government funding they receive. But how can it be that the majority of the public has completely missed the most basic science lesson of photosynthesis? As any major tyrant will tell you, if you indoctrinate youth into your lies, distortions, and way of thinking, you can get away with anything.

If you use the illogic of the EPA taxing cow emissions, then you can most certainly tax humans for breathing. We inhale oxygen and exhale that horrible pollutant, carbon dioxide, i.e. CO2. Especially we need to come up with a very punitive tax on all those marathoners who are expelling tons of carbon dioxide while training and racing!! (Did you just sneeze? Bless you...Now give the EPA some more money.)

Oh, we’re a blight on the planet. First we’ll try to convince people to pay for “carbon credits” voluntarily. As soon as we get them used to that idea, then we can impose the tax through force. First though, to get the process started, let’s tax cow emissions! That way we can take money away from the people who need milk for strong bones and teeth, make it more expensive, reserve it for just those rich elitists who can afford it, and condemn those dastardly farmers who keep cows.

Now for the facts on Carbon Dioxide:

The following article is from SYLVAN H. WITTWER, professor emeritus of horticulture at Michigan State University, directed the Michigan Agricultural Experiment Station for 20 years, and chaired the Board on Agriculture of the National Research Council. He is the author of the world's leading textbook on greenhouse vegetables, and is co-author, most recently, of Feeding a Billion: Frontiers in Chinese Agriculture.

“A fascinating report was published by scientists with the Finnish Forest Research Institute in the April 3, 1992 issue of Science magazine. The researchers reported a 25 to 30 percent increase in the growing stock of forests in Austria, Finland, France, Sweden, Switzerland, and West Germany between 1971 and 1990, and attributed this growth in part to a 9 percent increase in atmospheric carbon dioxide during the same period.

One of the best-kept secrets in the global warming debate is that the plant life of Planet Earth would benefit greatly from a higher level of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere.

You read that correctly. Flowers, trees, and food crops love carbon dioxide, and the more they get of it, the more they love it. Carbon dioxide is the basic raw material that plants use in photosynthesis to convert solar energy into food, fiber, and other forms of biomass. Voluminous scientific evidence shows that if CO2 were to rise above its current ambient level of 360 parts per million, most plants would grow faster and larger because of more efficient photosynthesis and a reduction in water loss. There would also be many other benefits for plants, among them greater resistance to temperature extremes and other forms of stress, better growth at low light intensities, improved root/top ratios, less injury from air pollutants, and more nutrients in the soil as a result of more extensive nitrogen fixation.

This good news about carbon dioxide has been all but ignored in alarmist discussions about possible global climate changes. CO2-related benefits were barely mentioned at the Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro in June, where the rising level of carbon dioxide and other "greenhouse gases" was decried as the world's greatest environmental threat. The Rio Summit ended with the United States and over 150 other nations signing a Framework Convention on Climate Change, committing themselves to stabilizing emissions of CO2 and other greenhouse gases at 1990 levels.”

Not to mention Al Gore’s total insanity and the dire promises of Obama to exacerbate this power grab, I will cite this government outrage: “William K. Reilly, President Bush's administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency, defends the $20 billion in costs that the Clean Air Act of 1990 has imposed on the U.S. economy, in part on the grounds that it "will eliminate 56 billion pounds of pollutants annually, many of them greenhouse gases." (carbon dioxide / CO2)

And yet, for over 100 years, nurserymen have been adding carbon dioxide to their greenhouses to raise the yields of vegetables, flowers, and ornamental plants. And for decades, it has been well known among botanists, biochemists, agriculturalists, and foresters that a shortage of carbon dioxide is the most common limiting factor preventing photosynthesis from proceeding more efficiently.”

This article is only a small piece of the factual science that the public needs to know. When the masses are rendered so weak in knowledge, in sustaining food supplies and in financial resources, there is no ability to combat tyranny. I am very worried that we are beyond recompense. Is this national tragedy beyond anyone’s ability to fight back?

I leave you with this question: How can the people of the United States stand up against the new “royalty” of their politicians and bureaucratic administrators who are taking by force their liberty and fortunes, however large or small, from them? When and where is the tea party? Count me in!
