CO2 IS YOUR FRIEND - Part 2

Original painting by Cheryl A. Pass

Even after the exposure of emails proving corrupted data and manipulation of findings in the IPCC reports on Climate Change / Global Warming, there are still those who cannot give up the dangerous folly of the environmental alarmism. As I have stated in previous posts, the game is extortion and fraud, not real, factual science. Just to satisfy my chilly January soul, I thought I would remind my cyberspace friends that there is some honest scientific reporting out there. I'm publishing the conclusions of an article cited below so that you may put your worried mind at ease and know we are in a better world than you might have thought.....that is if you've had to suffer through the "sky is falling" lies we've been force fed for the past several years. Read and enjoy!!!

Environmental Effects of Increased Atmospheric Carbon Dioxide ARTHUR B. ROBINSON, NOAH E. ROBINSON, AND WILLIE SOON Oregon Institute of Science and Medicine, 2251 Dick George Road, Cave Junction, Oregon 97523 [artr@oism.org]
CONCLUSIONS:
There are no experimental data to support the hypothesis that in - creases in human hydrocarbon use or in atmospheric carbon dioxide and other green house gases are causing or can be expected to cause unfavorable changes in global temperatures, weather, or landscape. There is no reason to limit human production of CO2, CH4, and other minor green house gases as has been proposed (82,83,97,123). We also need not worry about environmental calamities even if the current natural warming trend continues. The Earth has been much warmer during the past 3,000 years without catastrophic effects. Warmer weather extends growing seasons and generally improves the habitability of colder regions. As coal, oil, and natural gas are used to feed and lift from poverty vast numbers of people across the globe, more CO2 will be released into the atmosphere. This will help to maintain and improve the health, longevity, prosperity, and productivity of all people.

The United States and other countries need to produce more energy, not less. The most practical, economical, and environmentally
sound methods available are hydrocarbon and nuclear technologies. Human use of coal, oil, and natural gas has not harmfully warmed the Earth, and the extrapolation of current trends shows that it will not do so in the foreseeable future. The CO2 produced does, however, accelerate the growth rates of plants and also permits plants to grow in drier regions. Animal life, which depends upon plants, also flourishes, and the diversity of plant and animal life is increased.

Human activities are producing part of the rise in CO2 in the atmosphere. Mankind is moving the carbon in coal, oil, and natural gas from below ground to the atmosphere, where it is available for conversion into living things. We are living in an increasingly lush environment of plants and animals as a result of this CO2 increase. Our children will therefore enjoy an Earth with far more plant and animal life than that with which we now are blessed.

The above article is from the Civitas Institute - apologies, blogger is not letting me create a link at the moment.

This map and information is invaluable to North Carolina residents who are concerned about the infiltration of socialists into our republic. To me it looks like a nest of predatory parasites who are so embedded into our institutions that it will take an act of God to rid ourselves of the scourge.

In defense of Bank of America, I will submit that the bank was forced by the Federal Government to do much of (for) what they are being demonized. I think the map shows a perfect quid pro quo, where the Bank was forced to take the bailout money and then was forced to fork some of it over to Acorn. The Feds forced the banks to take the bailouts. It was the Feds who forced the banks to make the high risk loans to low income people, yet the banks are the ones taking all of the heat for doing what they were told to do. No wonder to me they created derivitives to get rid of the dead weight....if they hadn't done that, the Feds would have taken them over and/or shut them down anyway for lack of viable assets. Ken Lewis was told to go forward with the Merrill Lynch merger and then told to keep his mouth shut to the board on the condition of Merrill Lynch, and now the SEC is suing Bank of America for doing just what the Feds told them to do. Get it? You can't win...Lose lose LOSE! This banking crisis was entirely orchestrated by the Feds (and Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Franklin Raines, etc.) from the beginning.

Our citizens are damned if (we) do, and damned if (we) don't. The government has become the mafia.... You will pay g'zillions for worse health care and if you don't, you will go to jail and we will take all you own. You will pay small fortunes for inferior toxic light bulbs or else!! You will drive an electric tiny can (car) for 30 miles and then plug it into the grid...using more electricity to go shorter distances. You will give up your farm pond to the EPA. You will not exhale without being taxed. The mafia (Chicago or otherwise) is the model now for our government.

Our representatives in DC are no longer our representatives and they don't give a flying flip about what we think or need. Most of them (especially in the majority) are members of the same mafia. And with Acorn stealing elections, I'm not sure how we can get the @@#$$%@!!s out of there.

We need a NC Sovereignty resolution....fast. And that may only suffice to hold them back to a degree. It would help. However, it will be next to impossible to get this done, since the Democrats / Socialists are in the majority in the state house and senate and the governorship.

Sorry to be so glum.....it just doesn't look good to me...
Hang in there folks.

WE ARE NOT THE ONLY ONES

Sometimes, as I am reading through other political blogs, I come across comments from people who are able to articulate my own views and frustrations very well.....so well that I want to collect them to remind myself that there are others out there in cyberland who know, as I do, that the Democrats and Obama represent the lowest of the low that have ever walked in the halls of our government. I say "represent" because they aren't the first, but just the latest in a string of communist / leftist / socialist / fascist / progressive diabolical thugs who want nothing but to over-throw the Constitution of the United States of America.

That said, here is a comment I bring to you from a guy named James who wrote on the American Thinker site:

"The whole agenda behind the Health Care Reform Bill, is not better health care, the real purpose is to transfer people’s hard earned money to the power elite in DC and big corporations, The working poor will be obligated by force of law to buy health insurance they do not want and cannot afford or pay a fine and go to jail. Medicare will be slashed which will turn Seniors into second class citizens when it comes to health care. The whole bill is a huge tax on the middle class with no concomitant benefit. The Bill is riddled with back room dirty deals that maggot like politicians who feed on the body politic are hatching under the cover of darkness. The polls already show the majority of the pubic are against this bill. Remember the draft? that wasn’t even a universal mandate. This Bill will impoverish Americans and turn them into slaves of State. The Democrats who are ignoring the will of the people all must go. They are all scum and should be driven out of office."

Well said. I am only somewhat comforted to know that there are a lot of people in this country who feel as strongly as I do on the subject. Small comforts are at least something in a world of bad bad bad news.

CLASSICAL PROGRESSIVISM VS AMERICAN EXCEPTIONALISM

Absorbing the news each week has become an overwhelming task, even for those of us who are avidly interested. So much "you know what" has hit the fan this past year that freedom loving Americans can hardly know where to look to find solace. And believe me, readers, that was the goal, i.e. throw so much at the public at once that they will not have time and resources to fight back. "Hide the decline"(a la Climate-gate) ,and hide the bills (legislation we have no part in), hide the truth behind the mask of crisis management blamed on previous administrations. It takes a lot of time and research to discover the underlying truths and schemes going on, and we are finding them in spite of complicit and propagandizing mainstream media outlets. The majority of our citizens truly do not have the time, take the time, or do the research to find out the sources of the propaganda and lies. What we have now in power in the Federal government is classical progressivism. Progressive is a term that is defined by socialism, communism, fascism, and centralized power.

Slow and methodical over the last century was the march of socialists / communists / fascists / progressives / collectivists / liberals (they have so many names it is even hard to keep up with that), until Obama's election when the gears went into overdrive. Over-reaching is much too kind of a term to place on what has become a coup to completely over-throw the Constitution of the United States. Prior to now it has been incremental, the slippery slope, the inch by inch erosion of unalienable rights. Like a slow developing disease, they have gradually weakened the main body of country, so as now the disease can just finish it off in big bites at a time; socialized health care, energy restrictions, political correctness, executive edicts without the consent of the governed, continual reductions of property rights, illegal immigration - amnesty, etc. The centralized power of the Federal government is in full tilt, while individual rights to pursue life, liberty and happiness are becoming a distant dream. Communitarian ideology is the stepping stone to complete tyranny and, God forbid, you should speak out against this tyranny for you will be ridiculed, called a racist bigot, called an extremist, and a selfish uncaring undeserving idiot.

From an editorial on Socialist education written by: Paul Weston
"Propaganda is the most powerful tool in Socialism's obsessive quest for social control and absolute power. Fear of the state is nowhere near as powerful as love of the state, and none more so when the love is conditioned from an early age." (Think Hitler youth) He continues, " We have surrendered any hope of a decent future for our children and grandchildren because we do not wish to be labeled racist, intolerant, xenophobic, nationalistic, or illiberal." (Think forced "diversity," as opposed to freedom of assembly. Think forced "economic justice," "social justice.")

Well, I'm over the name calling and the mockery. And I have discovered the elitists who are trying to pull off this coup in the United States are a growing but still minority of ideologues who belong somewhere within the confines of other historical tyrants / tyrannies such as the failed states of Nazi Germany, Stalin's reign in Russia, Mao's communist elimination of millions of people, Castro, and countless others. You see, the policies of our current administration are just the same, though they try to cloak them in words that don't apply to real life or facts or historical truth. That is what tyrants do. They gain power by convincing a lot of people who don't know history to jump onto their corrupt repetitions of historical failures. They either marginalize or eliminate the opposition. They use words like "reform," "change," "hope," "power to the people," "diversity," "social justice," "sustainability," "believe," economic justice," "let me be perfectly clear," man-caused disaster," etc. You get the gist. Now, if you don't go looking behind the scenes at the players and find out what they mean by these platitudes, you will not have a clue what the real agenda is.

The fact is that over the history of civilization, America is the exception to all of the failed governments and tyrannies which have come and gone. What makes America different is the "consent of the governed," and "unalienable rights granted by God." We the people are supposed to hold the power over our own lives, not Barack Obama or Nancy Pelosi or Harry Reid, or any of the appointed Czars who are regulating without our consent. They do not own the power. It would be laughable that they think they do, except the situation is now too dire to be funny. American exceptionalism represents the true "progress" over the tyrannies of the past and present, yet the Obama administration wants to use the word "progress" to downgrade America into the abyss of centralized governmental tyranny over us. The propagandized use of words is confusing to a population who has not immersed itself in the study of history enough to understand what is being foisted upon them.

Our country has been under assault for over a century now from "progressives," by whatever name you wish to use. We have only held them back by snips and bits, as they ever so gradually took away our God given liberties. But now they have a shot at the whole pie, thanks to an electorate who didn't do the research, was lied to, and didn't understand what was at stake. The 2010 elections are an opportunity to once again stick some fingers in the dike, but it is going to take a whole lot more effort than that to save the great exception that is our America.

NOT AS DUMB AS YOU THINK, MR. BROOKS

David Brooks reveals his disdain for most Americans in this NYTimes op-ed.

It is important when developing your opinions to gather facts and expose your mind to what others have concluded. I highly recommend you read this David Brooks' op-ed so you may gain insight to the superiority complex that so afflicts the political left in this country. Sometimes I wonder about the psychology of people who gravitate to and define the left, i.e. how on earth do they arrive at such lofty opinions of themselves and demand that everyone else is just stupid?

I found the answer some months ago. It's called the Dunning-Kruger effect:
Definition on Wikepedia

The Dunning–Kruger effect is a cognitive bias in which "people reach erroneous conclusions and make unfortunate choices but their incompetence robs them of the metacognitive ability to realize it".[1] The unskilled therefore suffer from illusory superiority, rating their own ability as above average, much higher than actuality; by contrast the highly skilled underrate their abilities, suffering from illusory inferiority. This leads to a perverse result where less competent people will rate their own ability higher than more competent people. It also explains why actual competence may weaken self-confidence because competent individuals falsely assume that others have an equivalent understanding. "Thus, the miscalibration of the incompetent stems from an error about the self, whereas the miscalibration of the highly competent stems from an error about others."[1]

So, those who disagree with Mr. Brooks on the policies and role of government are not the 'educated class?' Hmmmm....let me see what he means by that.

This is my "educated opinion" of what he means. As an example of what our higher educational institutions are teaching American students, Bill Ayers has been implanted into the higher educational class studies in universities to convince the students that Marxism is the preferred method of governing the masses. What Mr. Brooks means is that Walter E. Williams and Thomas Sowell are not part of the "educated class." Indeed, he is asserting that anyone who disagrees with the oh, so, sophisticated minds coming out of left-leaning universities is just dumber than dumb. What he means is that life experience and common sense are not regarded as enlightened education. What he means is that the Yalies, the Ivy Leaguers, the Harvard grads, are the educated elite and should have dominion over the lowly masses. What he means is that believing in the U.S. Constitution as originally written is just so plebeian and not worthy of consideration as highly educated premise. Mr. Brooks' psychological ploy in his article is the premise that if you side with the left, you must be 'educated.' If you don't, you must be ignorant. My take on that is this; if you fall for his clever ploy, you really are stupid.

Here is the rub. There are uneducated people in this country. There are people who have been indoctrinated, but not educated, in the American public school system since the Federal government began mandating curriculum. There are people who have slipped through the cracks and have been told that the government is their only savior. It is these people the political elite have targeted to be the voting block. The more of these they can create, the more votes they get. (This is why the next big push from the left is amnesty for illegals...mostly uneducated people with no history of American loyalty or understanding of the Constitution......perfect foils for the left.)

Mr. Brooks and his ilk would like to forget and marginalize the rest of America. The middle class in America, especially those over the age of 40 have been educated in the fundamentals of American government. They are not stupid. And they are not deaf, dumb, and blind. The middle class built the country through their energy, creativity, and their strong faith in the U.S. Constitution. These are the "Tea Party" people that Mr. Brooks defines thusly:

"
The tea party movement is a large, fractious confederation of Americans who are defined by what they are against. They are against the concentrated power of the educated class. They believe big government, big business, big media and the affluent professionals are merging to form self-serving oligarchy — with bloated government, unsustainable deficits, high taxes and intrusive regulation."

Well, for Mr. Brooks' education, I would point out to him that the tenets he just attributed to the Tea Partiers are the tenets of the United States Constitution. And you would be "educated" to know that. The Constitution is against the "concentrated" power of any elite class and especially elitists operating in the Federal Government. He tries to get around this by implying the "uneducated" are against the "educated." Bunk, Mr. Brooks. Oligarchy is not what our republic was created to support. The Tea Party movement is defined by what they are
for, i.e. small government, balanced and restrained budgets, low taxes, and liberty for all......might I add, equal justice....NOT "social justice."

Nice try Mr. Brooks.....we are not as dumb as you think.

LITTLE GLIMMER OF SANITY FROM FRANCE

I have grabbed this post from WATTS UP WITH THAT.com I could not resist having a little fun and good news since my previous post today was so glum. This is good news. If only the idiots in congress and our courts and executive branch would wise up and get rid of this carbon tax insanity forever, it would be none too soon for me. I also grabbed one of the comments from this column because the guy said everything I would like to on the subject and said it soooooo well.

ENJOY!!!!

French Revolution! Carbon tax ruled unconstitutional just two days before taking effect

29 12 2009

This new French carbon tax was scheduled to go into law on Jan1, 2010. The tax was steep: 17 euros per ton of carbon dioxide (USD $24.40). In a stunning move, and surely a blow to warmists everywhere, the tax has been found unconstitutional and thrown out. Originally found here (Google Translation).

Lord Monckton was kind enough to assist me in deciphering the meaning of the ruling and writes:

In France, if at least 60 Deputies of the House and 60 Senators appeal to the Constitutional Council, it has the power to pronounce on the constitutionality of a proposed law – in the present case, the 2010 national budget of France, which contained enabling provisions (loi deferee) for a carbon levy. The Council found that these enabling provisions were unconstitutional on two grounds: that the exemptions contained within the provisions for a carbon levy vitiated the primary declared purpose of the levy, to combat carbon emissions and hence “global warming”; and that the exemptions would cause the levy to fall disproportionately on gasoline and heating oils and not on other carbon emissions, thereby breaching the principle that taxation should be evenly and fairly borne.

The Press release from the French Constitutional Council is here in English (Google Translated) and in original French

Here’s a Deustch-Welle news article on the reversal.

France’s Constitutional Council says the country’s proposed carbon tax is illegal. This is a severe blow to French President Nicolas Sarkozy’s plans to fight climate change.

France’s Constitutional Council has struck down a carbon tax that was planned to take effect on January 1st. The council, which ensures the constitutionality of French legislation, said too many polluters were exempted in the measure and the tax burden was not fairly distributed.

It was estimated that 93 percent of industrial emissions outside of fuel use, including the emissions of more than 1,000 of France’s top polluting industrial sites, would be exempt from the tax, which would have charged 17 euros per ton of emitted carbon dioxide.

French President Nicolas Sarkozy has argued the tax is necessary to combat climate change and reduce the country’s dependence on oil.

However, the council’s ruling is a severe blow to both Sarkozy’s environmental plan as well as France’s budget for 2010. The government now has to find a way to come up with about 4.1 billion euros in revenue that was expected from the tax.

Here is the comment I LOVE:

inversesquare

Hallelujah!! I think it’s time for everyone here to get our acts together, pitch in (30m hits is enough of us to make the money thing less painful) and graciously ask the assistance of the good Lord Monkton to take the key players in all this to task (court). It’s time to get this nonsense thrown out for once and for all! Tax Shmax….it’s the damage all this alarmist bull is doing to my kids’ brains that really gets my back hairs up.

Doesn’t anyone else find this situation as absolutely fundamentally RIDICULOUS as me? I mean really! At what point did the human race get so stupid as to let an obviously bogus hypothesis get this far down the track…..If it wasn’t so absolutely ridiculous it would be hilarious… fundamental logic and a good look at the data could only leave the world population with nothing left but a very feeble case for the precautionary principle.. It’s the emperors new clothes and the boy who cried wolf all rolled into one…but for the fact that the perpetrators of this juggernaut have managed to put most of the worlds people into some sort of a trance! ‘We believe, we believe’…..

How did it ever get to this point? I’m stunned! We have blogs like WUWT that spend every day battling to justify nature…..mind boggling! It’s like one of those experiments where everyone stays in the waiting room as the smoke wafts under a door way and everyone looks at each other waiting for the first person to get out….little sheep baaah baah…

The big players need to go to court and the world needs to be told the outcome! We are causing damage to our society, our kids are growing up thinking they are going to drown and fry at the same time! It all amounts to fraud and it’s inexcusable to let this thing keep playing out the way it is.

The time has come to end this ridiculous charade. It’s time to employ the same tactics that the other side uses, but with truth and logic!

30m hits is a potentially powerful tool if we all mobilize, get our ducks in a row and help someone like Monkton to drive this thing home for once and for all.

I’m sick of having to justify logic to people who believe a man that states on national television that the earth is several million degrees just 2km from the earths surface. What a farce!

OBAMA'S SUBVERSIVE GOVERNMENT BRINGS SHAME ON AMERICA

The word popped into my mind this morning, one I hadn't thought of for a long time. The word was "subversive." I'm not a typical name-caller and I don't usually go by labels, so I don't go around looking for platitudes to define people. I was actually surprised the word came to me. I looked it up. And I found this from Webster's dictionary online:

sub·ver·sive (-siv)

adjective

tending or seeking to subvert, overthrow, or destroy (an established government, institution, belief, etc.)

The next thing that came to my mind was Barry Obama standing there last year saying, "We are five days from fundamentally changing the United States of America."

Subversion was the goal all along. Shame on those who didn't see that. Shame on the voters who didn't take the time to research or pay attention to the aspirations of a subversive candidate. Shame on those who voted for this man deliberately to do this to our country. Shame on our political process that turned up two bad candidates. Shame on allowing Acorn to fraudulently skew elections. Shame on the Congressional Black Caucus who are dyed in the wool communists. Shame has been brought to America by subversive elements who have rigged the system and are systematically taking down our Constitution.

It's January 2, 2010 and all I can think of is, shame has been brought to America by a subversive posing as President of the United States of America.
